Impressive. Solid game. As many have already mentioned, the controls work well and the game runs very smoothly. Good music, sound effects and visuals for the most part. I have only played a few missions but it's really a fun game and I would definately recommend it! I am disappointed that there is no cover system like BIA/TS because that would add a different dynamic and in my opinion would make the gunplay and shooting mechanics more fun/challenging. Would also be nice to be able to change sensitivity of driving controls. There is much potential in this game for updates/add-ons so maybe Gameloft will surprise us. I am glad that this game will set a standard for what is possible now so that other devs will hopefully follow suit and make high quality games at a premium price! 4 stars ****
Nice try, but I'm not lugging around a headset with a microphone on it to use them. Not to mention needing to hunt for a wifi hotspot to even use them. I'll just stick to my trusty old Nokia for phone calls...
some stuff that i wish gameloft would add in future updates: cheats helicopter(maybe) semi truck more vehicles ladders to climb higher bonuses and unlockable items hidden throughout the city customize character?
Also, maybe the ability to go inside of buildings and such... That is if you can't already. I haven't seen it yet lol.
Honestly they hit the control types perfect, helicoptor would be easy with the stick throttle and slider steering.
but to open up the sky...........and we need an airport complete with a jet and a helicopter...and it would be fun to go inside buildings
I know I'm late to the "Gang$tar Party", but I thought I'd just say that this game is absolutely a step; make that two steps in the right direction, for the iTunes gaming platform. Oh, btw, one thing I've noticed that this game posesses vs. GTA III is the ability to pan your view around. That really annoyed me with GTA III. Also, for the most part I've not had any prob with framerate etc. on my iPhone 3G 3.0 non-j/b. Highly impressed that this level of quality is possible, and Gameloft only charged $6.99!
Yeah I don't really see the point of the ipod touch in terms of gaming. If you just want games and music and occasional internet access, just get a PSP or a DS. Both those items have internet access and can do pretty much everything the ipod touch can do, plus they have a much better selection of games. I think the point here is that people who want everything combined in one (phone, music, video, gaming) probably only have one device and if that device is an iphone- this game is really quite perfect. Folks with iphones would like a nice selection of games, so that they don't need to schlep around a separate gaming system (the way people with ipod touches also have to schlep around a separate phone). If you just want to use one device, it would be nice to have that device play as many games as possible and be nice if those games are as good as possible. People who have the ipod touch might as well just stick to the PSP for their gaming needs. After all, if you're willing to also schlep around a phone, why not a PSP as well?
Well, I own an iPod Touch and I am completely happy with it. My parents gave me the chance to get an iPhone, but I turned them down cause they both have iPhones and AT&T just plain sucks... I still love Gang$tar though! =]
I have a PSP also, but I really prefer ipod gaming. Much more fun, touch screen just amazes me, more hands on it feels like.
I would get this game, but Batman Arkham Asylum comes out on tuesday. I barely have enough money too get it anyway.
That would be pretty tight! Tilt the iPhone or iPod Touch to aim where you want to throw it. I can see it now! Lmao
