I disagree. I think there's life in $9.99. There are consumers willing to pay. The rest can be had with incremental price drops, which also serve, over time, to increase visibility through sales numbers. But Gameloft is known for making bigger leaps in price. Release at $9.99, they'll cut price by 40% - 50% a few weeks later (to $5.99 or $4.99). I still don't understand why they never even tried $7.99 for the games released at $9.99 originally, and then why not try $2.99 or $1.99 for the sales on games that were $5.99 instead of dropping straight down to $0.99. They drop price too low, IMHO, and sometimes too soon. Not as drastic as other devs, but it just doesn't make too much sense, IMHO. Other devs do the same, but then they complain about the pricing in the app store...when the devs are the ones to blame. It's...nutty. I mean..."wah wah I had to drop price by nearly half to raise sales!" Did you? Did you really? Because, I mean...how many have even tried doing it in increments? How can one complain about having to drop price from $10 to $5, and then saying we need to launch at $5, when $10 brought enough revenue to be viable, and $8 wasn't even tried as an incremental drop? They're skipping chapters in the "product pricing" manual.
I love this game and cant wait fo gamelofts other titles to come out. What would be amazing but probably cant happen due to the idevices capabilities and gameloft not going to update this game (I've heard them say it before, Ferrari GT evolution) would be for a co op multiplayer mode free roam. I hope Gameloft proves me wrong and pulls out some amazing updates for this game
Hmm I kinda want this, but then again the only GTA games I really enjoyed were GTA IV and Chinatown Wars. I might have to pass.
Yeah, I saw your post similar to this in the upcoming thread of Gang$tar (or it could have been Modern Combat), and I agree. It will be interesting to see whether or not Gameloft will jack up the price (pun intended) to the usual premium price of $9.99, when the game has become popular. They could be trying out the method of having a low launch price to get it into the top 10 before raising the price so that gullible customers, not knowing the launch price, buy the game for the $9.99, because it is in the top 10.
I played them. Didn't like them. GTA SA was okay, I mostly just would play to see how long I could fight the cops off, but GTA IV and Chinatown Wars are the only ones I really played through.
Well, most people here aren't 18 because obviously, the majority of gamers are less than 18. And what's so wrong with not being 18? This game is actually rated 12+ even though Apple's rating system is laughable at the moment.
It hasn't crashed on me. But I did just get some horrible lag on mission 2 of chapter 2 (had to take out Latisha's ex). Just restarted to see if its any better? BTW I thought that race was easy - I messed up at the start (went wrong way) yet still won it.
Does this have a better "touch joystiq" than Hero of Sparta? I love GTA like games, so I want to try this one so bad.
it freezed on me when i jumped a ramp against the beach area on the misson where you have to kill a guy down there.
This is really good, well done gameloft. GTA in your pocket. I'm suprised apple approved it at 12+ considering you can just run over pedestrians with your car to get cash. I thought they'd duck out the way or something. I'm sure some people are going to complain about this one. No, wait; exposing teens to violence is fine, just not boobies.
