    Exactly.

He makes the stupidest remarks when you jack people's cars, you'd expect nothing else though, based on gameloft's track record of voice acting.

Do you think this game should've been in NY or LA?

I think gameloft should update this and add Manhatten for in app purchase as an extra map. It should be $4.99 for one extra map to explore. What do you think?

I've noticed that with GL's voice acting (e.g. Assassin's Creed) where they hire Masterpiece theater wannabes from the local theater. On the other hand, a bad attempt could be worse.

I think it'd have to be extremely populated to seem like Manhatten at all, and I'm not sure the iPhone could handle much more...

Lags like my comp playing crysis (well, maybe not that bad)

Well, Altair had an american accent to begin with, but he just sounded like an idiot along with the rest of them in Gamelofts AC.

I'll be back with some of the genius catchphrases he says.

    Here's one

"Sorrrry! (;))" when you run over someone.

To be fair, so far most of the plot in the game is pretty terrible and seems to only serve to provide a little flavor beyond just giving you a screen that says "go here, kill this dude, come back."

Thankfully, going there, killing the dude, and coming back is pretty fun. :)

Just bought the sniper rifle. It is so much fun. Definately my favourite weapon in my favourite game :D

Haven't played for very long (just over an hour) but would like to applaud Gamelofts ambition with this game. They've obviously spent ALOT of time and money making this and I just hope that there are enough iPhone players out there that want to play this type of game. It's going to have to go to #1 and stay there for a while for them to make their money back for sure!

Anyway the game is really pretty good. The presentation is excellent (apart from the voice acting - was it really needed?) and the graphics pretty slick for the most part. Game-play is what you'd expect really - nothing ground breaking but solid. Biggest issue for me is the amount of pop up and the LOD (level of detail) distance on the texturing. The game runs at a decent framerate on my touch 2nd gen but the popping of objects and textures does get annoying.

Music is good, control is good (no inverted aim which annoys me) vehicles a bit dull to drive but do the job, map seems a bit small but believe you can open up more as you progress.

Basically its a scaled down GTA 3 for iPhone but without some of the detail/scale and innovation of the Rockstar big brother.

I would never have imagined when working on GTA 1/2 at DMA that ten years later you'd be able to play a 3D GTA game on your phone - that in itself is remarkable! Now when will Rockstar drop Chinatown Wars on iPhone? That's the one I personally want to play.

Lags a little bit like Crysis, but not to the extent that Crysis did. Even with this computer, granting i didn't have a big drive or enough RAM at the time, it still lagged. Gangstar does crash occasionally, and it gets annoying when it lags, especially during the race in chapter 2 mission 1, which i'm still working on.

Yeah notice how everything is cheap, the radio adverts, the bill boards/posters and the price of the game :D
    But the gameplay isn't cheap.

I'm actually surprised they started at this price point. They almost certainly could have got 10 bucks for it. Although, I wonder how much this price will cause people to go for it in the first couple of days. Here's one thing I've noticed though...not one person has said this isn't worth 7 bucks. I guarantee you that if it came out at 10 bucks, we'd have had some people bitching about it not being worth 10 bucks, so maybe it was a good call.
