expecting level of detail of a console pphhhbb, of course there are sacrifices to be made going portable by that theory why bring anything out on the phone but simple games where touch interface is used.... to each there own WCH will be on my page one for a long long time.
If it was top down, you wouldn't have to worry about draw distance. I mean look at GTA on the DS, its pretty impressive on a system that has pretty damny low specs. But Gameloft has been doing a lot of impressive games. I'm sure once they start doing 3GS (and maybe iPod Touch 3rd gen, though specs are unknown) specific games, you'll see some huge changes.
Has anyone figured out how or when it saves your progress? I just got a phone call while playing and it seems to have time warped me back before I took the mission I was on, standing in an area I don't think I've been before.
I'm actually really digging this so far. I like the controls, and the world isn't as small as everyone is making it sound. There is more than enough to enjoy for a good while, even if it isn't GTA-big. These are just first impressions, but I already think it is much better than Payback. I could actually see myself playing through this one completely.
The game is definetly good. You control using the joystick and you control the camera by swiping the screen. driving is simple use the gas pedals to drive and reverse, tilt to steer. shooting is also easy. just tap the target button to shoot straight or get a target by also tapping the target button and fire away. Really fun. minimap to show you were you are supposed to go. but who says when you have to get there. graphics a really good and the car physics engine is nice too. I highly recommend this to anyone. lots of music to jam to and you can listen to your ipod/iphone music to. Uses battery at a moderate rate but not to fast. i give it a solid 9/10. JUST GO AHEAD AND BUY IT ALREADY!!! Played on ipod touch, 2gen, 2.2.1 version.
Are there drugs, and sex, etc, in this game? I don't really want to play a game that has a whole lot of that. Just a bit is ok
I wasn't "expecting" anything more than what we have, and to go with the theory... yeah, I do mainly buy simple games where touch interface is used, because they're the games that work well on the iPhone. Of course some people are gonna want this kind of game, but if you own a bunch of consoles you might as well just get it on something else.
Add to that the grim reality that if all consumers held the limited vision of the iphone/IPT as a device best suited for games like Flight Control, true innovation on that elusive horizon will never occur from creative developers. Furthermore, I have not yet been able to fit a 50 "HDTV on the airplane, where I frequently find myself.
If the map isn't big enough this article http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Gangstar%3A+West+Coast+Hustle/news.asp?c=14582 says that "You end up in LA, or, better put, an iPhone-sized version of LA that's split into five areas." this could mean that you unlock more areas as you play the game making the map bigger. I don't have this game but I plan on getting it asap so this is just a thought.
Someone who hated AC, didn't like Oregon Trail, and thought terminator was lame, convince me to get this please
just played it, it is the SINGLE BEST GAME EVER MADE ON THE IPHONE!!! GET IT!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! period.
Get it. You are convinced. I actually have not gotten this yet though. Any good? Meet/fail expectations?
