Ye i know and i already tried it. airplane mode, logged out from GC, clearing up ram, reinstalling the game, i tried all of it and way more in all possible combinations...but it just don't work. But thanks. I rly don't know why airplane mode fixes this bug for the majority of users here but for me it doesn't. I'm puzzeled. My iP5 is on 6.1 and jailbroken but only 3 tweaks (auxo, zephyr, velox) installed.
When you jailbreak a device I believe some Apple libraries are changed for custom ones (or at least some values changed). Sometimes this affects apps. It doesn't affect too many, but I've heard of some apps which don't work well in JB devices. I remember this being mentioned by a game dev in this forums. Maybe that's the problem...
But...um...there is a bug, otherwise u don't have to put the device in airplane mode, right? Also i don't think that every single user here is playing on a non-jailbroken device. Maybe i'm wrong though.
They have sorted out/discovered a fix for it. I believe it was integrated into a build late last night and is just waiting to be pushed through the usual processes (iTunes Connect approval basically). It shouldn't take too long hopefully. I'm not sure if it will be pushed through as a delta update or a full update though. It is the gamecenter integration that has caused the problem and funnily its quite a common problem because gamecenter just doesn't play nice at times. I had the problem myself on iPad 4 but it was solved by logging out of GC. That didn't sort it on iPhone 5 though for some reason because it crashes all the time on it, logged in or not, airplane mode or not. But don't worry, the dev team was on top of it very quickly and they will/have sort it out. It just seems to have been difficult to find the exact code that caused the issue when out of sandbox mode for GC.
Disappointed there is no 'steering wheel' control like in previous "Gangstar's". Very disappointed, in fact.
On another note, if someone knows where the garage is that you can sell the cars you steal, I'd appreciate it. Just can't find the bloody place and wanna make me some cash from some crime. Who says crime doesn't pay
Protip: Do the races and other minigames. Over and over and over. Even if you get 0/3 stars it's around 50-60k. Anyone know how to get keys, or are they only IAP?
The gameplay looks nice. Graphics look outdated... Or is it just sanuku playing on a really crappy iPad?
I'm very skeptical of Gameloft games after the recent F2P antics like Dungeon Hunter 4. But I'm somewhat confused with significant amounts of positive feedback from the TA community. I'm giving it a shot. I hope they don't make the later part of the game incredibly irritating such that it requires purchase of leveling or equipment like DH4. Also can someone confirm whether the story elements are cringe worthy or decent ? I kinda liked some of the gameplay elements of the gangstar Rio but the story missions were pretty horrendous. And the excessive over the top swearing didn't really make sense. The first two mission I saw on a site was semi funny so I guess it was an improvement over Rio.
Thanks, dunno why I just didn't think of that. You get a free key every day that you play. I'm not sure if it has to be consecutive or not because the notice just says one free key every day you play. Also when you're playing the mini games, it builds up a meter and once you hit 100%, you get a key. And it does remember your position on any mini game. So, say I was playing blackjack and get to 60%. I quit it and go play video poker, the meter remembers you're blackjack 60% and continues on. Its actually the handiest way of getting keys but black jack can be very expensive at times But your meter builds up whether you win or lose. Dunno of any other method yet but they can be found randomly on map and the pedestrians with the question mark over them sometimes have very handy stuff. Edit, on the key thing, just in case anybody is thinking of buying them through iap, I wouldn't bother. They are very useful to earn in game but don't forget what's in the boxes is very random and a bit of a lottery. I've gotten 6 keys so far through play and only one box really had an item that I'll continue to use. That's not to say that they are not useful, the one item I did get that I'm happy with is a killing machine, but they are very random items in them. And it is very much a lottery. Vegas Baby!!
There is a milatary base, when you go inside you get maximum level police pursuit, with helicopters shooting at you and everything. I tried to run around in there to see if it had a link to Area 51 but nothing seems to be going on, just large empty bunkers, but it could come into the story
Texture work is great but poly count may be lacking (but still seems higher than previous games), but it is still better looking than previous games by far.
Its a huge improvement over Rio. Just massive. In every way possible. And it is a lot of fun. Its no GTA 5 but it is well worth the price and if you get into at all, I think you'll like it. Some parts are just very funny and its actually pretty well scripted and voice acted for one of these titles (context is important there). So far as I can tell, iap is really only cheats and totally unnecessary unless you want stuff faster. The stuff can still be got just by playing. And as it is sandbox, for me anyway that leads to a lot of playing. Overall, its actually a very easy recommend. It is what it is but it is done very well. Gameloft definitely are raising their game in a big way. Edit. And don't forget as I said on the previous page, a fix for the gamecenter related crash issue is found and on the way. (Just in case anyone missed it on the previous page, the thread is rocketing along at a quick pace)
"Rio", in my opinion, was the best in the series. Plenty to do within the map, good cars, weapons and general fun things to do in a highly detailed area. This map is big, yes; it isn't well detailed, though. Lots of empty areas with random buildings.
Are you saying that Rio is better than Vegas? That's kind of a scary proposition because while I like GTA SA, I didn't like Rio that much... The story missions just felt pretty crap... So far I've played the first two missions and they look better. The characters are slightly better fleshed out and a little bit funnier. Driving seems a little easier than Rio too.
Isn't Vegas always supposed to be crowded? Why don't I see much pedestrians in the walkthrough videos?
Any way to reset progress? The first achievement didnt unlock for me and thats going to drive me nuts. Any help is appreciated.
