Map design hasn't changed much, it just got bigger:same 10 roads in the whole city, some interesting landmarks, but nothing seemingly interactive. The vehicles are designed poorly. More than that - the ones in the clip are horrible, apart from the 'Vette in screenshot The jump they demonstrated was bad, though driving was better. Not good enough for a GTA-clone, no way Strippers are a minigame? 1 and 2 to some extent were groundbreaking masterpieces. The world in them really was more interactive than in next installments. Making it 3D didn't make the game better. Anyway, this is just a preliminary impression, I would LOVE to be wrong.
No matter what this game becomes, GTA:SA will beat the crap out of it next year as the 10th anniversary version comes out ( I hope).
If apple won't change max size of the game, it wont do anything good. Maybe next year will be released monile version of just cause, and it'll beat the crap out of SA. We don't know anything about these games exactly.
You're like one of those brats on NeoGaf. Judgmental, negative, and unappeasable. You haven't played it (you've hardly seen anything at all), and yet you're talking about it like you're some sort of savant.
I don't know, but War Drum Studios are pretty good at handling stuff. So if we're following the track, SA should be out later next year.
And did anyone see weapons from Modern Combat 4 on latest screenshot? It'll be nice, if there are same guns.
To be very fair, it does look amazing. And as others have said, real time shadows would be real nice but having Havok physics sealed the deal for me. Back on day one instabuy list.
The next trailer for the game should start with "In a world where pedestrians don't exist..." Seriously though, the world looks kind of dead. Also: cars pop in like 30 meters ahead of you? But looking at the controll settings in the options menu there you will be able to fly planes. From what I remember you couldn't do that in Rio, right?
Havok physics engine includes ragdoll. Okay, it won't be top end AAA console ragdoll but it will be ragdoll enough for mobile. It also has motion capture for characters. So character animations should be close to the top of what mobile can offer. Story is the only real concern. But at the same time, free roaming Vegas creating mayhem is somewhat of a big draw in anyway. And in relation to the apparent lack of pedestrians and traffic, one has to consider the drain of the graphics and the effect a heavy number of pedestrians would have on draw distance. Its not the real Vegas. And performance has to be considered.
