Dude, this thread is worthless. 100 posts but no solid info. I guess it is Gameloft though so you never know.
As I said ...this is not coming for now,maybe it's not coming anymore !!! there is no news from gameloft about this game so I'm out of this thread!!!!
I'm 100% sure the game is coming. Just not in the next 2 months. Once they release MOH (whenever that is ) I bet they will announce Gangstar Rio. Its been confirmed to be real.
If anything this will come out some time next year. Gameloft has their work cut out for them with MC3 not to mention wrapping up MoH. If this does come out though, it had better have open world (larger than Gangstar 2) and much better graphics than Gangstar 2.

Guys I have a Gameloft contact and he has said that Tintin and MC3 are the only games that are close to coming out..... Also MOH to be out soon too.
Given a Gangstar sequel will need to be bigger and better it doesn't surprise me if it needs more development time than one year. They're probably targeting a holiday 2011 release. Gameloft only formally announced Miami Vindication about 1 month before its release, so other then some vague hints, I'm not expecting official word or details on a Gangstar sequel for a couple more weeks.
You cannot confuse the notion that this game technically does exist, but only as a java game for regular cellphones; not as a smartphone game, and not as an iOS game. So, if Gameloft posted something on their facebook page, it likely has nothing to do with iOS development. Of course Gameloft will at some point develop another Gangstar game for the Appstore, and it could very well happen this year, but the official annoucement has not yet occurred. Just like they will develop another NOVA game. But there's no guarentee that it will happen in the near future. Edit: I think they did actually just announce it for the iPhone this time around. Well, everyone knew it was coming. One of Gameloft's worst kept secrets. Nobody knew exactly when it would happen though. I believe the announcement is official this time, but there are still no details.

You couldn't have /known/ it was real unless you've had official word from Gameloft. I didn't doubt it nor think it was real because the developers of the game didn't even release any word on its existence.
I thought when someone posted up Gameloft's 20 possible new titles a while ago, that this was on there? I'm going to get this when it comes out. I liked the 2nd one. I can't remember if I ever played the first one though.
