well there definetly is someone at gameloft who works on the weekend, but that is more like their twitter giveaway team.
Yeah. I was really looking forward to some new information on Modern Combat 3 or Gangstar: Rio Retaliation this week.
I remember Miami Vindication getting quite a bit of PR in the lead up to release like announcements of a much improved storyline written by one of the writers from The Wire. Things seem to be relatively low key for Rio Retaliation. I wonder if things just haven't started yet or if they are trying not to set expectations unrealistically high. The story for Maimi Vindication was much better, but not genre redefining. I'd be interested in hearing press releases for licensed music. Many previous comments, including mine, have been about hopes for better graphics, but having an excellent, varied, and recognized soundtrack while driving in Gangstar would go a long way. It may be file size and price intensive to get real licensed music, but would less CPU/GPU intensive than extra vehicle and pedestrian density while arguably making a greater contribution to the games' enjoyment. Greater draw distance is a must though for playability reasons. And my biggest peeve is actually that I can't knock people off their bikes. It's just great fun in the virtual world to go bowling over motorcycles and smaller vehicles. Vehicle physics for collisions in general could use more work to be more realistic and varied with more careening instead of a thunk and the vehicle stopping quickly.
Agreed. Also, they need to put every AI through drivers ed. Jesus, they don't know how to turn into the right lane for christ sakes, let alone turn at all. It's damn hard to avoid slamming into some retard who's straddling two lanes. lol
If that game even exists it's most likely for cheap java phones. The iPhone game is called "Gangstar Rio Retaliation", as you can see in the official trailer from gameloft.
No it's actually called City Of Saints. Btw judging by that image we can see how big the city is with rainforest. Also that it is raining which implies that there will be weather in the game.
I suppose it's a little much to hope for vehicle physics to change when the road is wet vs. dry. Being a port city, hopefully there's fog too.
https://www.facebook.com/gameloft?sk=app_285925874755280 They have concept art and the world map (I'm guessing that's what it is) on facebook...
To be honest the map looks quiet small. I also wonder when it is going to come out. A gameloft guy said in the gameloft forum that modern combat 3 would release mid octobre, so why do they make a facebook-page for this first ? -> I think it will probably release this week, but very sure next week...
The map of Miami Vindication looks bigger Well, I hope there will be more things to do, and that the new engine improves the gameplay...
