Looks very nice. It is a universal app by the way. Again the game looks like it's set in the same 5 block range. Confirmed Weapons: Pistol (Dual) Baseball Bat Machine Gun Flame-thrower
Hopefully they will be because they are dropping 2nd gen support which I thi k really held back Gangstar 2 when it came to draw distance and overall detail.
I really don't see terrible animations in 9mm but yea I see what you mean with Gangstar 1 + 2. But still they could be worse.
Their screenshots on facebook look really good imo. Interested in what new info gameloft gives us next week.
Hopefully a second trailer and/or a release date. It's probably not screenshots so a trailer/release date is probably what it is.
In an open world game, assuming they are able to increase the pedestrian count, I'll let it go if the animations are a little stiff. Given the genre though, it would be nice if the explosions were more impressive for free roam havoc. And I still find those cityscape backdrops in the screenshots low-resolution and bland. I'm sure there are shader effects that would more accurately imitate how the eye sees far away objects rather then just lowering the resolution and washing out the colours of the background still image. I believe GTA III and Vice City neatly side-stepped this issue by making their cities islands, although I guess that's not very realistic either.
Seeing the first Gangstar was released on August 20, 2009 and the second Gangstar on September 22, 2010, and I'm hoping for more of everything in the third Gangstar, I hope they don't rush things and are targeting late October, 2011. Seeing the iPhone 5 is anticipated to be announced October 4 with availability in mid-October, a late October launch for Gangstar would be well timed to attract users looking for apps to fill their new phone, especially if there are special effects or enhanced draw distance/object density for the Apple A5 that up to now would be iPad 2 only. It'll also allow them to test against the shipping version of iOS 5 to avoid any hiccups. I'd also expect them to release the intro trailer before release.
I'm pretty sure that the release date of a sequel doesn't coincide with the release dates of the series previous games.
I think it might. Every Gangstar game was announced 12 months after the last one was released. Then they wait a month and release it.
