Sooo... I'm guessing we'll be seeing this game very soon? Cause Gameloft does have a tendency to release a game shortly after revealing it (*cough* Settlers *cough*) Anyhow, this looks pretty darn fun. Gan$tar: West Coast Hustle just went on sale for $.99. Maybe a hint?
a hint to that it WON'T be released soon: They said on twitter that this video doesen't show the final graphics and stuff, so they've probably still got quite abit of work to do.
i think the game is very close. it looks like the game in the way of gameplay is finished and even the story. so the ONLY thing they have to do is fix the graphics which they might have been doing for some time already. we dont know when they took the footage of the game. so i guess im just wishing but another thing to think about is that the first game came out around the end of august so i wouldnt be too surpised if it comes out pretty quick.
I'm thinking along these lines as well. The gameplay and content looks almost 100% done, possibly just needing a few adjustments here and there, and the graphics just need to be updated a bit. It doesn't look terrible as is, but knowing Gameloft's sequels, they're going to be much better than seen in the video. And they never show an actual gameplay trailer until a game is about to be submitted, usually a month away at the most.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed I tend to redirect back to the AppStore to check if the game is already available.
Ok so basically aside the graphics this game is a vast improvement! So what we got: - New vehicles, multiple bikes (i noticed at least 1 chopper and 2 sport bikes), a police chopper with firepower, alot more cars (hummer, multiple sport cars etc.), and a boat! That is already awesome! - A HUGE map. I mean, even without looking at the mini-map, just from the SCALE of some streets the player flies/drives through, you can tell that there's no effin around this time! This is gonna be one huge map (and it better be!) And its gonna have alot of skyscrapers! - Bike drive-bys! WITH ANIMATIONS! xD - Cars parked at gorgeous mansions? (see the trailer at 0:15) That reminds me! This game BETTER have safehouses! - Cover system! - What looks like a SEPARATE ISLAND at 0:34 (mini map) - Helicopter + rooftops + sniper rifle? I dearly hope! But rooftops + helicopter for sure! - Day/Night cycle! Thank God! - Some new effects like vehicle reflections (better than nothing!) - Voice acting (NOT better than nothing) EEEEVER FLUOWN A HELICOPTAH? - Islands joined by bridges (see mini map) - a really high attitude for helicopters (see the red attitude meter during the chopper flights, its at the right), which SHOULD be another indication of the city being darn huge! - A vastly improved police system! OH I SO HOPE! *See the very end of the video AND the police chopper which just couldn't be used only by the player, and hopefully the cops using the cover system? ok ok, dreaming's never bad... - About 5 polygon vehicle models and Play Station -1 textures! (oh wait that aint good) - A flattered city from outer space, hanging in the air! (the greatest part) Oh well i hope that's not it, but hey thats already a nice improvement aint it? P.S. GAmeloft should supply barf bags for the ordinary citizens to withstand the ultimate puke-inducing power of the voice acting!
you can see the graphics are better in some scenes than others.. they def will be improved.. time will tell how this unfolds.. ill give it a try.. and if nothing else.. maybe rockstar will see this and port one more of there games over now the iphone 4 has better hardware.. time will tell. they did not support gen 1 ipod out of the gate.. so its possible. i would of love d to have had the voices from the peds in gta:china town. chris.

these new features are nice but gameloft, do something with story characters animations. (open mouth and moves sync to sound!). well maybe in gangstar 3...
Yeah, graphics are pretty terrible, though it's hard to say how much they could be improved given the amount of detail they're pushing and without knowing how optimized (or sloppy) their 3D engine is. Maybe they should license themselves some idTech 5 goodness and get some real graphics going, 'cos as it is, these graphics are 1998-class. That aside though I do appreciate how much bigger the world is and how much more there is to everything, so I'll probably still pick this up.
I hope this hits the AppStore this month. WCH released on the 20th (if I'm right), so this looks like we've got a week to go (give or take a few days).
