Well its surely got a better story than the original then, although probably still the same crappy "voice actors".
Well I expected the writing to suck (as usual) and Gameloft surprised me by hiring the big guns. I can now hope that they'll nail the voice acting, too.
Did it not? I really can't remember now... Anyway every other gameloft game that does have voice acting has crappy voice acting and that was the point really. True, I hope the same, but i'm doubtful. Lets hope they prove me wrong!
Looks great. And the wire was a great tv show when i watched it. So your little bro was kidnapped? ok. sounds a little gta iv like. Swamps will rock. i hope you can get eaten by alligators in the swamp. AND A JETBOAT!!!!! Yes. AND ONLY ONE WEEK! Looks like a greeeaat game. so excited.
You're telling me David Simon or Ed Burns wrote an iPhone ripoff of GTA? Gameloft must have him at gunpoint. Nah, it's probably one of the writers who wrote an occasional episode, not actual showrunners. If you're actually expecting dialogue like this: Don't hold your breath.
yea. probably its somebody who wrote one episode and now they advertise it as a main writer. still i hope the dialouge is great but based on trailers... it sucks.
Uhm yeah it did. One lame clichéd line per character, the cops, people in the street and the radio announcers, but it did. I think you mean it didn't have fully voiced dialogues, because saying it "didn't have any voice ackting atall" is a lie.
pedro said another one bites the dust and i am the law sometimes. cops only said freeze or the most common NOW ITS SERIOUS! because it wasnt serious the first 15 times you said that.
Look, I'm not a fan of the first game -- not because it was a clone of GTA (who gives a crap), but because it was a bad clone of GTA. A couple of days ago I wrote that I hoped that the new game would have writing of the quality of a decent straight-to-video movie. We just found out that Gameloft hired a writer (they never called him a "main writer," Nicoipad) from what is arguably the best show in the history of television to work on the game. I don't know, I guess one can be a total cynic and crap all over that. Me, I prefer to think that Gameloft, for once, is taking story seriously in a game. Obviously the dialog will not match the heights of the Wire -- that wouldn't be appropriate for an action game, after all. But I would expect that anyone who worked for David Simon and Ed Burns (even for a single episode) knows how to craft memorable characters and an entertaining storyline. I am also encouraged -- and I mean this seriously -- that the folks at Gameloft even know what the Wire is. I thought all they did was check out games to clone .
IMO way better than Grand Theft Auto because those idiots didnt bother to give us a real GTA and instead used the same version that is designed for portable devices DS / PSP. Gangstar is now the real GTA. Imagine riding a helicopter again and now jetski too! Wohooo!
