I am very seriously contemplating getting myself an iPad 2. I have been using iPod Touch 3rd gen and am absolutely in love with iOS gaming. I have some questions: 1. Is iPad gaming comfortable? It does seem a little cumbersome to be holding on to such a large device for an extended period of time. 2. Since a lot of people here play on multiple platforms, how does everyone rate gaming experience on iPod/IPhone vs. iPad vs. Consoles. I travel quite a bit for work. And get my gaming fix on the go with my iPod. But would really love more real estate for the hour long gaming sessions that i might want to have. 3. Can I use the games I have downloaded for my iPod touch with my iPad as well? Or do i have to buy separately for the iPad? Just to give a picture of games I enjoy... some of my favourites are Tilt to Live, Jet Car Stunts, a ton of platforming games like bounce, Babylonian Twins, League of Evil, etc, NOVA 2, High Born, Real Racing 1,2... well practically every genre except from Tower Defense games... Looking for some advice... Thanks in advance
1. I don't see many people with an iPad 2, but trying the iPad out, it feels just like an iPod Touch 2. Consoles are better hands down, but if you want something to game around with, your iPod Touch 3g is good enough since most of the games are the same. It's just on a bigger screen that can run better and faster. 3. You can use the same games you've downloaded on your iPod with a iPad 2 (using the same iTunes account), but you might find the pixels larger if they're not updated for the iPad 2
buy an iPad 2. I've had every iOS device in every gen. iPad 2 thus far is the best one I've had for the money if your looking to game. It is still very practically portable as well. And isn't as awkward as one might think when holding it up for extended periods of time. My gaming performance has increased dramatically when playing FPS's, input is more accurate and responsive with puzzle games, your not blocking out screen real-estate with two thumbs. Over all it's way better for on the couch gaming...even over consoles in my book, but I'm a older guy. Not to mention the other functions such as web, mail, etc. All take advantage of the above mention points. I gave up on the iPhone and iPod touch after getting the first gen iPad & ipad 2 I'd never go back, its my only iOS device now. even though ipod and iphone are still amazing, ipad fits my usage needs better for the price. But that's just my opinion, I am considering 64 touch for storage but not in a hurry.
