If you want a game that you can add to your archives and play forever you're basically limited to buying vintage console titles on the Xbox, PS2, and earlier... Although really they're not even safe as some Xbox titles require early Xbox Live functionality which has since been shut down so be sure to shop wisely!
which is why App developers can't price their games like consoles which affects whether or not their apps get updated with every new iOS update
I agree with every word you typed, but the bolded fragments fully sum up my feelings on this matter (so much so that it would be redundant to add anything else)!
I still use an iPad 2 on iOS 6. On paper, I shouldn't be able to play all the noteworthy new games. However, because there's way too much games released, I discovered the older supported games that I can play and enjoy. I'm not exactly what you would call a "hardcore gamer," but I wouldn't consider myself a "casual" either. With so many new games churning out daily, even if many of them are "whale-hunting freemium garbage", you can still eventually discover that one special game for you to enjoy. "There's something for everybody" might as well be the motto for the App Store. For the iOS updates and Game Center that break stuff, well, that IS really annoying and needs to be fixed.
Agree with alot said here except the RR3 reference. So long as they keep adding cars, tracks and events I really wouldn't want to have to leave all my work behind on that game for some new RR game. RR3 still looks gorgeous too
