Waiting impatiently for this game! Looks so cool but for some reason it's taking forever to come out..
Is illusia coming out on the same day as competitor's queen's crown? I would have thought that would be bad for business.
Glad I was got that contest.... Infinity Blade, this, and I would be surprised to see a few more choice titles released as well. Expensive day.
That's a very, very, VERY bad idea. Pretty much everyone will be shelling out money for Infinity Blade, what is supposed to be the best iPhone game EVER, on that exact same day. People who were interested in Illusia would probably have to wait or not get it at all... This is a bad move, Gamevil. If you don't make it earlier, then only you are responsible for the poor sales attributed with choosing such a poor release date.
correction Infinity Blade is the best "looking" iPhone game EVER. The actual gameplay looks rather shallow. But if this game is 5 bucks like all new gamevil games...
Well if I am not mistaken Gamevil will use the opportunity to advertise ILLUSIA with giant banners at sites like TouchArcade on the launch of Infinity Blade, which is actually pretty clever. This is a very smart move because a lot of people will be checking out for preview/reviews on that day, you can bet there will be a lot of traffic then. This is my theory: Gamevil is holding the game back (it's already been approved) until Infinity Blade's release date (so the game gets maximum and nearly free exposure from the ads). Smart move, but bad for those waiting for the game. I just hoped the beta testers actually test the game this time around and not leave out bugs like they did for Hybrid 2 / Zenonia 2. Edit: But I am still not sold on the limited low resolution screenshots. I wonder if the game's music is actually decent, for example. One thing that was great about Nexon's Maple Story for the iPhone was that it had great music.
I tend to disagree with this release on the 9th, I understand what you saying gospel9 and it makes sense, but they can achieve even more sales by releasing say tomorrow or something and still advertise when Infinity Blade comes out. I know Gamevil's games speak for themselves and are insane, but seriously the release on the 9th I think is rather a poor choice. If its ready now, then release it, i am just one person but I mean I dont understand the logic or reasoning, and then they might also have Dungeon Defenders to compete against, and well that game will sell really well, so why not release before them ? Do all the advertising now, kill it while the market is free (except for Queens Crown, which took the approach i thought Gamevil would of and their game is really nice) so all in all I dont get it
I'd rather it come out sooner than later, and it could be better for gamevil to hold it back, but at least we know when it's coming out, and 1 week isn't all that long.... edited: yeah it is.
Have to say this looks pretty cool, but will Gamevil ever embrace Retina Display for 4th Gen devices?
