You read a thread like this one, and it all makes sense why so many of the independent developers say that they don't need any help beta testing. They would rather take their chances on some bugs, then deal with all this crap.. Well, I'll hope that the coders are smarter than the testers, and will do things they know to be right, despite getting advice to the contrary...
Well I'm slightly insulted that some of you are grouping the chosen testers all together and making it seem like we are all blubbering idiots or something. I was not in it for the "free" game or the 10 dollars, I actually want to help. Having bought Zenonia(on release) and Baseball Superstars 09(while waiting for Zenonia to be released) the company gained my respect as a developer that puts out quality and enjoyable games. I would have bought the game regardless of if I was chosen or not. I feel privileged and am grateful that I was chosen as a tester. So I will not be saying a damned thing about the game to anyone but GAMEVIL themselves. While some of you seem resentful that you were not chosen, some of you actually think some of the beta testers that were picked are bad for the job and that is your opinion. I am not disagreeing or agreeing with any of you on the matter. But just because one or two testers decides they are going to betray GAMEVIL by revealing things on the game does not mean we are all like that. I plan to enjoy the game while beta-testing and help so that when its released it will be move enjoyable for the average player and hopefully rid of bugs. You don't have to believe me but I said what I meant. By the way theres a 99% chance of me buying Zenonia 2!
Congratulations. I believe you are one of the few that should have really been tested not because of the reasons you listed, but the fact that you have decent/proper grammar.
Final, congrats, and I dont mean you specifically. I just saw two people all happy with their first posts here, and assumed they were all like that. My mistake
Awesome, I was chosen. For those of you who think that the choosing of the Beta testers was random stop being arrogant The fact that GAMEVIL didn't release the list until August 14th (my time at least) tells us that they went through each submission, or most, thoroughly. I'm like FinalGamerAC. I didn't even know that they were giving us $10 Gift Cards to iTunes (I only saw the post on the GAMEVIL forums, which lacked information of that type). Well, thank you for choosing me and I hope to help make this game the best it can be.
No problem man. Sometimes I can be a jerk but at least give me a chance to mess up first before you call me one lol. Some of them might be like that but I don't know I have to give them a chance to screw themselves over first.
I too wrote in very good grammar to Gamevil, also stating that I really wanted to help them out with the game. I also mentioned that I beta tested Zenonia, so that probably gave me an advantage.
I think what gave me an edge in becoming a Beta tester for this game is that I have the top number of posts on the GAMEVIL forums and was one of the first posters in the Zenonia category.
