So I got the gamevice for ipad mini in today. I wanted to share a few quick thoughts. Now I personally bought it to use the ipad mini as a portable emulation machine. With a jailbroken device of course. But I don't think you can use it that way. I can't find any concrete info but I don't think it has HID/icade/bluetooth functionality. So it only works with officially supported apps.

I played a few games with it and the comfort level is amazing. It feels really good. The build quality feels like solid matte plastic. The analogs feel exactly like an xbox one controller. And all the buttons and triggers feel great. Holding the gamevice with the ipad mini 2 in it feels perfect. It really looks and feels like a cool little gaming tablet. And I wanted to add, the thing smells great. :D

But here's my disappointment. It came SO CLOSE. So close for what I wanted to use it for. Arcade, SNES, all the way up to 3DO and Playstation. It lacks a start and select button so full button mapping is impossible. As well as the fact that I just don't think it can be used that way any way. So the build quality is amazing. But I guess I will have to continue waiting many more years until some company, some day, makes a perfect device for me.
