As a founder member of the AA (App Addict), half the games I buy end up deleted within 48hrs, but here's a few standout bad-buys! Star Battalion - Fell for the pretty face, turned off by the personality Madden NFL 2011 - Fell for all the 9/10 reviews Splinter Cell Conviction - RUBBISH, just plain rubbish!! Ironman 2 - Retina looks, average substance. Erm, make that zero substance Avatar - More Gameloft tat Hybrid 2 - Looked like a good A-RPG, isn't a good A-RPG Geometry Wars Touch - Better suited to the the iPads larger screen Moto GP 2010 - Absolutely awful (and I still bought it knowing that it would be!) Aqua Moto 2 - Got caught up in all the hype Somersault - Impulse buy @$5.99/£3.49 and price dropped the next day Crisis on Mars - Just another pretty face iStar Force Fighter - Yet another $5.99/£3.49 flushed down the toilet Low Grav Racer 2 - Demo looked cool on iPad launch day in the Apple Store. Average on iPhone's small screen And finally.... Funky Punch - Hit 'BUY' by mistake when logged into the App Store, Errrrrrrrrrr!! With 247 game apps bought since the turn of the year, I could name a lot more, but I don't want to sound like a whinger! Perhaps I should add a little yin to the above yang and list my Top 5 iOS games too? Here you are: 1. Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus 2. N.O.V.A. 3. Space Miner - Space Ore Bust 4. Real Racing 5. Skies of Glory I guess Gameloft aren't all bad..??
There is it is just not the default go into your acct settings, don't think that its available on the touch though....
Heck, why not? Let's keep this thread alive... Big regrets: Luna Story (framerate too fast) Axion (framerate too fast) Sim City (boring) Virtual Villagers 2 (just plain dumb purchase) Flat Space (too much time needed to learn) Word Warrior (was expecting Bookworm Adventure clone, but wasn't because of timer in game) Chaos Rings (an overhyped, expensive battery hog) Arvale (great concept, hate replacing weapons and armor constantly) Ravensword (too short, and it went on sale the day after I bought it - ARGH!) Final Fantasy 1&2 (Only played for an hour before the nostalgia wore off) There's always more, but some titles are so bad that their immediately forgotten. I'm sure I'll take some heat over voting Chaos Rings as a regrettful purchase, but so many other titles in the series were (and are) so much more fun. My hopes were just too high for this one, and I think I let myself down moe than SquareEnix did. I'm truly sorry if this offends the hardcore FF gamers out there, but I don't mean to offend. JMO.
Angry Birds * Battle Bears -1 Castle of Magic Corporate Fury Espgaluda II * Fastar! FIFA World Cup Frogatto * Gangstar: West Coast Hustle Helsing's Fire Hero of Sparta Icarus-X Need for Speed: Shift Osmos * Rise of The Lost Empire Silverfish * Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Super Mega Worm I put a star by the games that I found to be okay, but not entirely enjoyable. I've learned a lesson from this. When it comes to buying games now, I'm EXTREMELY picky. Of the games coming out in the next few months, there are only 3 I'll probably get.
I think I posted some games I regretted buying in another thread so... Here's my latest regrets: 1. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (horrible on the iPod touch, unplayable for me- bought for $1.99 on sale) 2. Silverfish (great graphics, horrible game + controls IMO- wasted $1.99) 3. Splinter Cell: Conviction (at least it was on sale- $0.99) 4. Archetype Chapter 2 DLC (Capture the flag is fun when there are people playing.. $0.99 wasted)
Canabalt and Doodle Jump. Both are shallow and get boring after awhile. I don't know why Doodle Jump is still on top of the App Store when you can get other games with more depth for the same price.
There is one game I regret: -Chronicles of Inotia (the first, not Inotia 2)....I got the first and enjoyed it so I decided to grab the original for a buck. It was horible. People who complain about grinding in Zenonia or other games clearly haven't played this. It's really nothing more than gaining a couple levels, going to the next map and repeat. The story is nearly non existent and there are a few quests that are pointless. Other than that, I don't really impulse buy. I usually get games I've been looking at for a while that go on sale. I don't usually buy games right away because I have such a backlog, it's not really worth the brand new price (since most games will never be as expensive as they are on day one).
1. Pandemonium 2. Chronicles of Inotia (loved the second so I decided to buy the first, it was horrible). 3. MegaMind (loved the movie so I thought I'd pick it up since there were great reviews horrible) 4. Monster Fights 5. The Settlers 6. Zombie Infection there are a few more but these are the most recent.
It's funny how some forum members seem to think since a game is cheap, you have no right whatsoever to be mad if you bought a turd. It's a weird attitude, really. Anyway, I regret Soccer Superstars and ChronoSgear. I don't think either is a bad game, I just didn't really get into either of them.
- Helsings fire (really overated. Tried about ten levels and then deleted) - Tilt to live (confirmed my dislike of 'chased to death' stress inducing games) - Ash (this was free and I still regret it. Horrible battle system where you 'swipe' the enemy) - Epic win (a to do list with game gimmick. Should be free. Many free to do apps much better than this) - I spoof Walken (Really bad Walken impersonations. A buck for this?) - Castle of Magic (confirmed my utter hatred of platform scroller games where death comes often by dropping off a cliff or missing jumps. Ugh) - Doom resurrection (Got to first boss and could not kill it. Never went back to it) - Undercroft (five bucks and got bored fast. Was never clear what to do next or how to get out of a dungeon. Hate having to look up walkthroughs.) - Soosiz (Another death by dropping game that I bought into from hype.) - Defender Chronicles (Amounted to nothing more than ridiculous waves of enemies in ever increasing numbers. Just a blur of BS.) - Angry birds (I'm an angry bird for thinking a number one selling game makes it really good. Just pointless repetition until you succeed. And it NEVER ends. What's depressing is seeing knockoffs of this game selling well, like 'trucks and skulls.' - Angry God or what ever that 'torture the native' game is called. Another hype fest. Could be cute if you're 5 years old. What I really avoid now is anything related to 'beat your high score' type games and 'open fient'. I want a game that has progress, a story, and then you're done and you can delete it. This spending another hour trying to beat what you just did is beyond tedious for me. What I enjoy most right now: Battle for Wesnoth (Amazing content. Turn based, relaxing, strategy.) RA
Ummm WHAT?? I dont think you got the point of the game or played it enough to understand why its so good.
Firstly your signature is not correct, and extremely arrogant and small minded but that's a different rant. A agree that DC was terrible. It was hyped as great but it was the first TD game I deleted from my device.
