Touch KO surprised me. I didn't enjoy anywhere near as much as I hoped I would have done. Good graphics, but the gameplay is not immersive.
...And Resident Evil 4 Mobile Edition was a disappointment. I expected a lot more from that game. Shame.
Glyder: Love the immersive experience this game produces. Just flying arround, probably getting some gems now and then and trying some of the achivements, but just being able to experience the 3d environment is much more fun than expected.
I second that rileyman (in reference to pocket god) Scoops is simple & yet so great, totally surprised & engrossd in playing it. FieldRunners was a disappointment for me.
+1 for Baseball Slugger. Before I bought it, the look of the characters turned me off. But now, it's about all I play.
Doom Res. due to the price and actually how awesome it looks. Resident Evil Degeneration because it proved that Capcom was going to do something right on the iPhone for a change and it was great to have RE on the iPhone. Resident Evil 4 just because of what it is. PuzzleQuest at how addicting it was. TNA at how a wrestling game turned out to be my favorite iPhone RPG. Zenonia at how it lived up to the hype. Dungeon & Hero at how bored I was while playing it and how stupidly easy it was to get killed early on. Wolfenstein RPG just because it showed how stupid EA really is. Zombieville at how addicting it was. EDIT: Forgot Brothers in Arms due to the fact that it was when I first started on the AppStore and realized that a real 3d shooter could be made on the iPod Touch. Also my first purchase back in the days of 10 dollar games. Cube just because it was a real 3d fps on the iPod. Too bad it was soooooooo laggy otherwise itd be an awesome app. Metal Gear Solid just because it was a stupid gallery shooter with almost no story (it's presented in boring text format and has almost nothing to do with the game. Just pretty much dictates the enemies you fight and the setting). I wasa hoping for a story driven stealth action game but we got this... biggest iPhone disappointment so far.
tapdefence! it was my first game on the iphone and i never played tower defence games before. i really like it and spent much hours with it. hero of sparta was a blast, because i didn`t expect such detailed graphics. resident evil was boring. but that`s the problem with all resident evil, expect the first one. it`s just a shooter, no horror left and no story. most other games were ok, never surprised me in a good or bad way.
you want to know what game suprised me? rope n fly sometimes goodness comes from where you least expect it.......like pretending youre spiderman.
Sway surprised me for sure. Unique, with very good art style, fun gameplay, and the quirkiness of the levels and characters.
rolando 2. didnt like the first one so i thought i wasnt going to like the second. but i love itXD. also racer. i thought i would get bored after a few trys but im currently still trying to get in the top 50 at least. RANK 67 BABY!!!
- Artifice : Didn't realize how addicting it was! - ALIVE : I never thought a game so simple could be so much fun! - Trace : It has so many levels!
Disappointments! Zen Bound - Oh So pretty but oh so dull Cops & Robbers - Looked sweet in pre release vids but just meh Galaxy on Fire 3D - This game was right up my alley love space games like this but could never get into it. Suprised and Impressed. Motion X Poker - I dont like poker or dice but this game is addicting. PathPix - Probably my favorite game on my idevice, simple but challenging in its later levels. Rogue Touch - Played original variations of Rogue in a *nix environment back in the day, i was delighted by the new graphics! Wurdle - I am a word game fanatic, and I sat on wurdle for months, reading crappy reviews in the appstore, and finally gave in. This and Pathpix are my daily games. IMO Wurdle beats the crap outta Bookworm and Wordsworth!
