Zenonia and Zenonia 2. Try as I might I can't get into them. I really want to like them and play them, I just can't.
Sorry to disappoint you, but I have better things to do than stir up Internet arguments...although it is somewhat amusing to see fanboys get there feathers all ruffled.
Crimson Gem Saga-It may actually be a good game, but the controls killed it. And yes, I know they updated it and tweaked them but they still suck. Rimelands-It took months to get a fix for game stopping bugs and by that time I lost interest. Enviro Bear-do I really need to explain this?
No feathers to ruffle, and not a fanboy. I assumed that you have played the range of open world portable games (in fact, there are very few) before issuing your opinion. Objectively (that is, considering the variety of landscape, the detail in textures, the range of creatures and plants, the number of towns, lairs, etc) there are many duller, emptier, and more depressing game worlds out there. Perhaps I assumed wrong, and your frame of reference is only PC and home console games. That comparison would be stupid, of course -- you will pardon me if I overestimated you.
Well, I will admit that Aralon is an incredible accomplishment. When the app store first launched, games like Super Monkey Ball blew me away...I would never imagined having an entire open game world to explore in my pocket. That being said, I just don't think the iPhone is the place for games such as these - at least with the limitations of it's current technology. Infinity Blade seemed to get this, sacrificing free exploration for simple tapping of pre-determined spots. I'd agree that Aralon is the best game of it's kind, but in my opinion that doesn't change the fact that it's still an extremely stripped-down version of what it tries to be. In hindsight, perhaps posting about it in the "games so bad you want your money back" thread was a little extreme
That's a much more reasonable argument. I disagree with you, but definitely understand your perspective.
I recently took a star off of many games i rated. 5 stars is for true gems and shouldnt be given lightly. For me a 3 star rating does not mean is bad, not at all, in fact is a good game, but is a game i dont play at all.
Wait a second, I just compared our scores and achievements in Game Center, you're higher ranked than me, you bought the Mighty Eagle, you got all three stars on SIX episodes, have played it for five hours (Angry Birds Fan achievement), and you're in the top 5% WORLDWIDE (everyone has Angry Birds). Explain, please.
Two games stand out for me: I regret buying Boggle, as the controls are terrible when you make a mistake. I brought fruit ninja because of the widespread praise it got at the time, but I regretted that purchase. Sure it's got nice graphics, but didn't like the gameplay modes. If it was more involved like puzzle quest 2, it would be outstanding. I've played many, many, many games that are far worse, but this one stands out as I had high expectations for it.
