I've got a feeling that the graphics are from a 3GS which would really suck for us iTouch and other iPhone users. Anyways I won't mind the graphics as long as the multiplayer is good and engaging.

but 5 weapons is quite disappointing, knowing this will be an online game, more weapons should be available,5 isn't enough even with a java game, hahahaha

5 is probably enough (iFPS only had 2 ). Although, more would be nice. Maybe they could sell weapon packs as DLC. I wouldn't mind paying for a weapon pack as long as it is only £0.59.

This is going to be yet ANOTHER instant buy for me. :)
Good grief, Gameloft is really starting to crank out one great tile after another over the last few weeks - with more still to come (hurry up Shrek Kart).
Okay, I agree with some that they're not the most original games ever released. Nova basically looks like a port of Halo, but I for one don't particularly care. My iPhone is my communications device and that's what I bought if for, but the fact that I can play games of his level & quality on it has become an unexpected but pleasant bonus. I've noticed the popularity explosion of the App Store & the increasing technical ability of the device seems to have created a two-headed monster here. Hard core gamers that want one thing (originality or whatever) and then there are some of us like me that just want to be casually entertained. I just want to casually entertained. Excuse my rambling... :)

You may have proved your point to yourself, but your missing the point of the original argument. Again a great example. Why make a whole new war franchise when they already own the brother's in arms ip? Honestly when I first got my ipod touch, two of my first games were Hero of Sparta, and Brothers in Arms. The gameplay was decent and I thought the blatant ripoff was a hoot. Now, a bajillion games later, they're still doing the cheesy rip offs. You want an FPS? Does it have to be called modern combat? You want a Sci-Fi FPS? Does it have to look like halo, half life, or crysis? They could have the same success with semi-original ideas. I've given them time to grow out of the awkward "I'll just borrow this" mentality, but a year later, while other games are UTILIZING the strengths of the platform to form exclusive, and platform specific IPs, they're still just "borrowing" ideas.

Seriously dude, who gives a flying $H!T about originality?

    NOTHING IS ORIGINAL ANYMORE!

Line drawing games, started with FC, now we have 33rd Division, which improves on flight control, same with many other genres.

Also, I think that Gameloft's blatant rip-offs are great! Gang$tar, it had never been done before on the idevice, and has now promped Rockstar to port GTA: CW!

Hopefully, Gameloft's games will prompt more companies such as Bungie or Infinity Ward to produce games of an even higher caliber.

    ROCK ON GAMELOFT!

You didn't answer either of the questions in my post. I'm astounded at the passion this studio generates from it's fanbase. For a generic mobile games company, people really get pissed when you talk bad about them.

So, the below list was all original or did they have to borrow the ideas of GTA? Why or why couldn't all these game developers come up with semi original ideas?
    State of Emergency
    Mafia
    The Godfather
    Saints Row 1&2
    The Warriors
    True Crimes
    Crackdown

To me all these games I've mentioned seem to borrow from one particular huge sandbox game, that being duh duh duh duhhhhh GTA...... you're turn le'deuche123.

THEY ARE SEMI ORIGINAL. MAYBE IF I SPELL IT OUT IN CAPITALS YOU'LL GET IT. DO ANY OF THOSE GAMES SHARE THE SAME UI AS GTA? NO! DOES GANGSTAR? YES.

Sorry, I'm not even arguing that games, and media in general shouldn't borrow or be influenced by others ideas. That's not what I'm saying. Again that's not what I'm saying. What I am saying is inject it with a few original touchs. Or maybe some of their...Own ideas! GTA has lots that gangstar doesn't have. Name one thing Gangstar has that isn't there to fit the cookie cutter mold of a sandbox crime game.

Well it's starting to appear that I've overestimated the general populaces ability to read, and comprehend my rational yet opinionated argument. You keep blabbing about borrowing ideas, which really has no relevance to the argument I set forth. So whatever, I'm not trying to make anyone hate gameloft, just thought I'd TOFTT and be the voice of reason.
