can't wait for this! mainly looking forward to the multiplayer which i hear is coming out in an update. I've been hoping for a true internet multiplayer fps with a large player base since i got my 3g on release day. Hopefully it will be fully fleshed out, hopefully as in depth as BF2 or COD4.
well its 4:50 AM on the 31st here on east coast usa....

If I were you, I wouldn't hold your breath for that multiplayer update. Gameloft's history of "new content promised" updates hasn't been good. If we see multiplayer at all, it probably won't be for quite a while.

And as far as being as in-depth as COD 4, you probably shouldn't get your hopes too high.

Sorry if this sounds a little pessimistic, but i'm just trying to stay realistic about this game/dev.

That was one game. Ferrari GT: Evolution. I'm sure they'll add an NFL 10 online update and online update for this by the end of the year. They're busy, can't you tell? With all the games they've been developing and releasing lately.

I'm pretty sure this in fact will be a lengthly title, with replay value (70 percent sure...).. With online, it will definitely have lots of replay value. And the price they are asking, $6.99, is like a WOW price! I expected a $9.99 price tag..

    Just my thoughts..

I'm personally getting this either way. It looks way too good to pass up, regardless of how much content it has, or if/when multiplayer comes.

It's just that deenybird mentioned that he was most looking forward to multiplayer (I think we all are), and it's possible we won't see it implemented for a long time.

I mean look at ngmoco's FPS. I realize that all that game will be is an online FPS, so they're taking their time and doing it right, but to ADD at least a decent online multiplayer to a game that was originally developed without it is going to take time. Probably a long time.

Gameloft will probably release a multi-player update a few months after this is released like they did with Real football 2009. But that was LAN multiplayer only:confused::):D

nah it didn't have online. Online on this game would be awesome. i would go up in the towers, snipe and use rocket launchers. and at times i would just run around with an ak47 hahah.

I've said that multiple times in this thread. It isn't something you just knock together in a couple of months. If they did that, it'll lag like hell and be horrible to play. It takes a lot of testing and tweaking to get balance right (i.e. weapon power, health), to get a decent matchmaking system, to tweak the engine so that lag and fps are still smooth etc. Like you say, ngmoco has spent more than 5 months optimizing their game.

If Gameloft does add it I expect a 4-6 month wait and probably, with all the extra development costs, a paid DLC add on.

I emailed Gameloft asking if the game will still be released before the first of September and I got this response:

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest in Gameloft games. Unfortunately, due to license and legal limitations we cannot provide that type of information. We recommend you to keep visiting our website periodically for the latest information.

Just because gameloft said online will be in a future update doesn't mean they didn't start working on it! They probably worked on the game (story mode, gameplay, etc .) and the online, but didn't finish online when they finished single player mode.

I've seen many people say this, and I've decided to let you know you might be WRONG! Just because it's in a futur update doesn't mean they just started on working on online.

I expect the update out this December.

I guess livefire/killtest online multiplayer should be enough.

Whilst that is a possibility it is much less likely. BTW, the reason I said 4-6 months, was that they could've started work on it.
