Gameloft's New FPS, Modern Combat: Sandstorm

I'll say it one more time:

If it's on rails, it is, by definition of the genre classification, NOT an FPS but a rail shooter. And those are two different types of shooters.

Sad that even Carmack doesn't understand that relatively simple to grasp fact.

 

But when Doom Res came out, people called it an FPS. So, im just saying.

 

If it was on rails, why would they add a onscreen controller to the left? oh.. maybe for aiming but we'll see.

 

Dude there is no way that this is on rail and if it is no one is going to by it. Plus how could you have online multiplayer in an on rails shooter (besides co-op, which would SUCK)

 

who said anything about multiplayer? I 100% sure it hasn´t got multiplayer. quote me on that

This game looks AWESOME. I'm a fan of Gameloft and appreciate how they make good games for hardcore gamers, games with great graphics and gameplay that's deeper than all the overwhelming amounts of casual games on the iPhone.

Yeah, I don't get why people are saying this is an on-rails shooter! It's NOT. Why would they add a joystick and a fire button? It's not gonna be on-rails... :/

 

If gameloft promised online for that game, then they should have updated it with multiplayer. But that game is so old now that it is too late to create multiplayer for it; the sales don't justify such an update. However, this game looks very promising and all we can do is hope there will be multiplayer because right now, sources do say that there will be.

 

In the video you can read "find a way to the elevator" and you can see a green arrow. I think it's not an on-rail.

 

How the hell do u throw a gernade in a rail shooter? Whats a joystick for? What is that green arrow supposed to be? lol! it's a "FPS" as Gameloft said, not a "Rail shooter"

Didn't Gameloft tweet that it has already been submitted. It could have been submitted when the video appeared, probably to add a little hype or something.

 

Yeah their twitter post said it was submitted. Kinda sudden Didn't really give the fans much notice lol. Still looks like it will be a great game

Yep, I am al 99% sure that it won't be an on-rail shooter.
And I do believe Gameloft will eventually cough up online multiplayer in a future update. They said they would with Ferarri GT, but I think they have just abandoned the game and moved on, seeing as it wasn't too popular.
Modern Combat: Sandstorm on the other hand is likely to be very popular, and judging from the amount of people I have seen asking about/resquesting online multiplayer on TA, Twitter and Youtube, I think that Gameloft would be stupid to never give us online multiplayer. Also Gameloft will probably want it to compete KillTest which we know will have online multiplayer.

And to all you haters - Please, do yourselves and us a favour and navigate your pessimistic little cursor away from this thread.
If you don't like a game (which hasn't even been released, btw), accept that you don't like it and accept that nothing you can do will prevent other people from liking it, and move on.
No need to pointlessy whine/moan/bitch about a game and waste the threads pages with post after post of BS
Now politely scurry off back to the sewers.
