Not asking for free stuff, but some discounts wouldve been nice.look at EA and their success with their sale. How can you call a trailer for a Phone game a 'gift'? Would you have charged for it otherwise? Things like content for games we bought or a discount for games which someone actually cares about would've been something, even if it were a small discount.giving out wallpapers no one will ever use or music no one will listen to, makes them look bad.
By whose estimation? They don't even owe anyone that much. Granted, a few of their "gifts" were more on the order of thinly disguised advertisements, but let's be honest here: Everyone's holiday promos are advertisements of one sort or another; they're intended to call attention to the company and their brands in an effort to generate current and future business. But how a company choses to do that is entirely up to them. Maybe you don't like wallpaper or game music or sneak peek trailers, but some people do. Just because Gameloft put up a tree for everyone to enjoy, don't assume that every gift under it has your name on the tag, or that the ones that do are going to be ones you will like. Just be glad you were invited to the party. It's also worth considering that there were many developers who didn't put on holiday sales at all, and the only reason people aren't bitching about them is because they didn't call attention to themselves by offering free stuff -- even if it wasn't stuff you wanted.
Gameloft can't do anything like making a game free or change the price on Dec 25th because iTunes connect closed on Dec 23th. Dec 22nd was the last day for any changes.
Gameloft did drop the price of at least 12 games to $.99 last week... including Spiderman. It wasn't part if the Advent Calender promotion, but a sale nonetheless. It's still going on now. I also picked up two free games as part of the Advent Calender, and the only reason I didn't get more is because I'm out of hard drive space. There isn't anything to complain about as far as I'm concerned.
Just buy the games you want now at the sale price and then delete a few to keep space. Whenever you want to redownload them it will be free.
Gameloft just tweeted 15 minutes ago. "Christmas may be over but we still have some gifts for you! Be ready tomorrow for a little surprise!"
Dungeon Hunter 1 sale/free please! This is the day they can start dropping prices again... Just say no to cynicism.
Please no more wallpapers, I want the next episode of Smokin' Whips xD Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
and gameloft tweeted Christmas may be over but we still have some gifts for you! Be ready tomorrow for a little surprise!
