In the vein of Halo, probably.

Saying Halo just puts me off, worst fanboy crowd ever. I've got the feeling NOVA will put Pocket God and Minigore to shame in terms of totally ****ing annoying fanboys.

Only space shoot em' up on the iPhone. Which I won't go anywhere near, I don't like to play mediocre games on my iPod, I play the ones that fit the platform the best.

If I wanted to play a quality FPS, I'd go to my 360. I wouldn't ever compromise and play on the iPhone.

So thanks Gameloft for nothing really, but to those without other options or willing to lower their standards just to play a game on the iPhone....enjoy.

I'll stick to the indie devs which do make games that are well suited for the iPhone. No offense to any GL fans as it seems that if you say anything bad about them you're considered a "GL basher/hater".

I like this, we're on the same wavelength :)

I bought an iPhone to play iPhone games, not the exact same stuff I've been playing the last two decades... although a little nostalgia is forgivable.

See thing is...I've seen other developers both big and small produce amazing ipod games. I personally prefer the indie games...not so much because their indie, but because it's my experience that indie games take me places new and exciting. However I've also been recently blown away by both doom classic and COD zombies on the platform. I absolutely agree, I would rather play NO "halo-ish" shooter, then play a dumbed down, generic version, without even a sliver of the original games character.

True, guess I should point out that I don't like indie games because of some silly "support them because they're indie" type of ideal or "boo the big guys".

It's just that generally I've enjoyed indie games more on the iPod than those of big name developers, but there are a few exceptions.

@SID I agree with one of your earlier points, that you may as well go to your console to play said games. AC2 for iPhone will probably be good but when you have it on PS3 it is immediately obsolete.

Indie developers sound kind of bitter.

Don't forget the guys who JUST DON'T WANT any bigger console at home to steal their time. I am one of these guys, and I love to see devs getting the last pixel, the newest effect out of this little handheld. I don't compare with console titles because I don't have one and I'm not interested in having one. I'm just amazed on what's possible on my mobile device which a) I need anyway and b) carry around with me all the time.
And if I can play a decent (for this device) FPS in the train, I'm pretty stunned and amazed.
So, Gameloft bring it on. Other devs, show what you got. For me it doesn't matter WHO is bringing the good stuff, as long as it is entertaining ME! :)

On an iPhone I'm a hardcore gamer... although I never wanted to be one ;)
But the awesomeness of this little device made me become one.
And YOU don't tell me what to do... very simple :) In this case, grow up.

I honestly don't give a flying f*ck if gameloft 'copies' other games.
The games they copy are usually copies themselves and have been copied by other people.
As long as they're good, that's all that matters to me :)

And anyone who says otherwise, answer this: Do you want modern, advanced, console-like games that are similar to other games or more match-3/fart apps?

Gameloft is doing a great job making games on the idevices. No matter how much they copy, or bring "less than console-like experiences" to the platform, they are one of the premier developers for these devices.
