I lied. It was a bet with a friend. If I could pull it off. Won the bet, lost a lot of credibility and respect, and I feel like a douche. Flame away.
The problem with a lie is that you will never be believed again - ever.... unless people know independently that your statement is true - if there is doubt - they won't believe you. Bad spot to be in, and it's never worth it. Brave of you to confess it though.. Oh, and for all the above posters - just because I try and keep spelling reasonable - it is Tourette's Syndrome - French guy you know...
I think Electric_Shaman knew that, hence the joke about the dog getting shot that LordVader seems to have missed.
Stupid friend. Got 50 bucks off it. I'm not sure it was worth it though. I know it's an idiotic thing to say, but I am truly apologetic
This might sound trite - and it seems that most of the time when people try and give thoughtful comments here they are generally ridiculed - but $50 for this life's lesson is really cheap - if you never make the same mistake again - your friend will have saved you countless dollars, relationships, etc...
lol, now I'm starting to think that he made up the story about the bet and just did it for attention. Well if he did win $50 from this, I think it's only fair that he gifts us all a $0.99 app
No it wasn't a bet - you got caught. First it was app development then it was PR remember? Couldn't keep your own story straight eh? So the thing is you try to get out of a lie WITH a lie - your credibility is shot now. And if you really read this thread - you should give your "friend" the 50 bucks back because it didn't appear people believed you from the start. Say hello to Shane for me.
I'm gonna call BS on that bet. And seriously, you should be banned for this shit. "- Don't post fake announcements or impersonate individuals or companies"
YEAH I AGREE!!! I got a temp ban for advertising my website, and this is a severe and direct violation of the rules....
