Ehh, I don't think my device has anything to do with it. I bought Sparta for example when at that time the 2nd gen ipod touch was the "most powerful" device out there and still ran pretty bad. That's unacceptable.
I think activision will soon be a major competiter on idevices. cod:zombies is a huge succese as well as THPS2. I read somewhere that they are selectivly expanding their franchises to idevices. I have no dought that they have looked at a few gameloft games for encouragement.
I hear that, I'm using a 3gs and Sparta runs crappy even on that, not much better that the first gen iPhone. It's absolutely the game cuz everything else runs good. I played about an hours worth of it an couldn't take the pain anymore. As far as saying gameloft games suck is a matter of taste but IMHO they are all plain, boring and easy and not really worth the download. I do download alot of them but the only one I'm actually enjoying is fishing kings and I'm looking forward to zombie infection(if it ever happens) and splinter cell which will probably be a huge let down but you don't know if you don't try. Both of those games are gamelofts last chance to have my money and if they suck or are just ok then I will give up on them altogether.
IMO I think that gameloft brings out okay games, but the only thing I worry about is them bringing out updates. They RARELY bring out updates for the games, and on top of that, if an update comes out, it won't be for new features or anything , but only bug fixes so people won't complain that the games won't work on their device. I bought a few games from them, a bit low on content.
I appreciate that people want new features put into a games patch, but you buy a game surely based on the content it has when you purchased it. OK if a game is mega successful i think smaller companies are more likely to add additional content, but larger companies have to move onto other projects, purely because their investment is so great they cant spend time on adding free content (this isnt always the case, but generally is).
Good point but isn't it pretty good for business too? Lots of people want more stuff and lots threaten to tell people not to buy it, give low rating, etc. I'll hate gameloft if they get out a game that has like 5 small levels then never update it.
Well it looks like a lot of people don't exactly hate Gameloft, but rather think they are overrated. Then everyone who likes more than a few games from them goes gaga over them. Like this: Plus whenever anyone says anything negative people come flaming out of nowhere. Then they proceed to say "everyone can have an opinion" and then wallow in hypocricy by flaming the person with a different opinion for having a different opinion. So I think the moral of the story would be for everyone who 'hates' gameloft to rephrase and everyone should respect others opinions.
