It should be "purchased" already, if it hadn't finished downloading you should be able to redownload it later without being charged again
You might want to check your purchase history in iTunes just in case. If the app shows up as free, then you're fine to DL it again at no cost.

So predictions on when game #2 is free? I wouldn't be suprised if its early morning in North America if Gameloft is serious about spreading around what timezones get a better chance of being around when the game is free. If thats the case, I wouldn't be surprised if the 2nd game comes out by 4 or 5 am central time in the US.
Go to iTunes and try to rate the app. If iTunes let's you rate it, you downloaded the app, if iTunes does not let you rate it it means that you don't own it and iTunes will charge you if you download it.
Anyone know when Gameloft will tell you the time a particular game will be free? For Ferrari GT, I was informed the times it would be free after the 2 hours had already past. Really should tell you the previous day or something I mean the whole bloody point of a promotion is to please your followers not to incite their anger. This thing could have a slight catch but it shouldn't be stupid like this event where you are punished by the company for having a life since you don't have the time to check your messages 12 times a day. /Rant over
I disagree. I think the frustration is the point. 1. If you really wanted a game and were waiting for a sale and then you found out you missed getting the game for free you are either more likely to never buy from the company again (many will swear this but few will keep to it) or realize that that item isn't going on sale again for a really long time so if you want it might be more likely to buy it. 2. Then there are the people who realize its the same price as a cookie or cup of coffee and they say that they will just support the dev. 3. And then there are those who absent mindedly see it was free and accidentally purchase it after the 2 hours are up. If they really wanted to give it away for free, it wouldn't only be for 2 hours at a random chosen time that nobody is told about until it happens. I still think its a nice promotion and if I manage to get even one game for free, I'd be pleased.
I've nothing to complain about the Gameloft giveaway, if you want it badly, try with best of luck. I love the surprise element too, we don't expect any specific time or games.
I have iTunes at work so when I get the notification from twitter, I am just going to quickly go and download it there. Got the freebie today, but have yet to install it.
I would not be completly shocked if like one of thre high profile games went up. Maybe put it up some strange time. It's only 2 hours and many would most likely not get it, and there would be a crap load of hype.
I love reading all of these complaints. Gameloft announced, in their press conference, that the notifications would come from twitter and only from twitter. It is also stated in several posts here. Gameloft even posted on twitter (via a link) with how to set up text messages for your twitter account to help ensure people don't miss out.
The thing is that if every country with the app store is really participating, then for the most part, no matter which 2 hours are chosen its a good time for someone.
