I doubt it will do save back up. Think of all hardcore gamers who insist on having 3 different profiles for the same game spread over a hundred games! It would be so awesome though. The amount of times iTunes has deleted a game I really like and I have to start all over.
Why not kill 4 birds with one stone and release iOS4 for the 3 iDevices AND release gamecenter? But NO!
