If you're asking whether I restored the phone back to factory settings then no. I kept everything I had installed.
If anyone updates to iOS 9.1 released today can you please post if it fixes the GameCenter issues? Stuck at work but curious if I should be excited to update later this evening when I get home.... Thanks!
I just updated (not from beta) and it is working for me! (I'm still too nervous to open the GameCenter app because that's what seemed to trigger it before, but as long as my games are working again, I'm calling it good...)
This is definitely still an issue on 9.1. After downloading GH Live yesterday and having it refuse to start no matter what, a few hard resets fixed Game Center...for a good couple of hours. No matter what I do now, it's the same ****ing thing. This really ****ing blows. Get your shit straight Apple. EDIT: Deleted my possible solution. Doesn't seem to be consistent.
I'm still experiencing the same issues with Game Center with no possible solution in sight. The main GC application hangs on a white screen of death and I can't access GC for any games. I've given up on playing or purchasing any more games until Apple sort this. Is anybody else still having this issue?
I've been having this issue and it actually got to the point of locking me out of certain games (as these games await a successful GC login before continuing). The only reliable way I've found to fix this is to do the following: 1. Hard reset (power+home until you see the apple logo) 2. Open Settings -> Game Center 3. Click your Apple ID, then "Sign Out" 4. Sign back in This fixes the issue for a while, but after some undefined period, it breaks again. Oddly enough, the lock out experienced above also prevents me from deleting games that use GC. Clicking the "x" on the app icon locks up SpringBoard and it resets itself after a minute or two. Running the steps above fixes this issue as well.
I should note that I'm currently running iOS 9.1; hopefully the workaround fixes things in 9.0.2 as well.
I have been emailing back and forth an engineer from Apple and he has no idea. He has my backup and still no joy. I seriously can't see a fix any time this year. Buy a 3DS and move away from this faulty system.
I'm in the same boat, just hadn't posted. Originally on the beta and had the issue. Totally reinstalled, not from backup, to 9.0 (not beta) and the issue was gone... until it came back one day. So tired of this. It's been like 3-4 months of hard resets and broken games.
I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. 100 percent. I can not delete my game that are Game Center related as well and I get the white screen of death. After spending 7 hours on the phone yesterday with a senior apple tech advisor who actually screwed things up further, it might be time to file a class action lawsuit.
What really annoys me about this problem is that it seems reasonably common but none of the apple staff in any department seem to know about the problem. Also they make up ways that fix the problem but the fix never works. Why don't they just say that there is no fix at the moment.
I'm going to use my Apple Care protection, but unfortunately lose game progress and $previous unrestorable IAPs$
I hope that I will receive a new Air 2 where the iOS version has not been upgraded to anything after 9.0. Fingers crossed. They have on record that I've purchased the following devices: iPhone 3GS iphone4 iPhone 5 iPhone 6+ iPod touch 4 iPad original iPad 3rd generation iPad Air and IPad Air 2. This will certainly help my case.
Well I have the same issue but a simple workaround works for me. I reset network settings every time GC hangs. Granted I have to do this every time and manually connect to WiFi again but it works for at least a few hours.
I've tried this before and it doesn't work. I will try again. Hopefully 146 GC friends and 1,240 games are not a reason for me having issues. Edit: I am downloading the IOS 9.2 beta 4. Fingers crossed. Edit again: The beta above did not fix the issue. Time to use Apple Care!
