Hm, it appears I should have read the topic post a little more carefully. Getting bombarded by all the big pretty images is what I blame my ignorance on!
No updates in a long time, but if this is the definitive thread, here's a new one: 2-Bit Cowboy: https://itunes.apple.com/app/2-bit-cowboy/id850089184
Think its a close call between this and Kale in Dinoland which looks totally like a gameboy game (controls/sound etc). Very good platformer as well, very underated
Yeah, Kale in Dinoland is still the best GB styled IOS game, followed by Stardash. Jack n' Jill (one touch platformer/autorunner) and Visoriser (shmup) were not mentioned yet. Both simple and fun. Edit: and free.
I gave the original list a good update. Please let me know if you are aware of any other games to add.
Ever do gba4ios? You can get some of those low bit game boy colour games if u have iOS 7. Those are the best games in my opinion
You bet I do! Playing Gameboy games on my iPhone was the reason I jailbroke in the first place. I believe that the original Gameboy Tetris has never been surpassed by subsequent versions and clones and Kirby's Dream Land 2 is perhaps my favorite game of all time. Of course, this does not mean that iOS can't produce some fine games that would feel right at home on that ancient device. It is those in particular that I have in mind in this thread, not for lack of access to the original, but simply because they are fun and creative games.
