Please remove ME from the list, it isnt a good game at all, so many bugs and its boring, and its not fair because it has so many trolls that support it, so the good games like League of Evil and others can play a fair fight....
Same here, I think the one big quality of ME is its huge fanbase (congrats for that). But you cannot compare this game to some of the others mentioned in here. Ask in the wild, outside, and you'll get completely different results.
Exactly. There's no fanbase outside of TA. Said I was going to stop bashing the game, sorry. I'm done now though.
Wait so because you don't like the game it should just get removed from the list? That would be like me saying "Please remove League of Evil from the list, it isn't a good game at all, the pixel graphics are lame and there aren't any checkpoints, and its not fair because it has so many trolls that support it, so good games like ME and others can play a fair fight..." (please note that that is not my actual opinion of the game, I was just using it as an example). Where is the logic in that?
So a game is good enough to have a "huge fan base" which some how disqualifies it from game of the year? Logic much? Edit: Even speculation is this mysterious Mission Europa fan base is limited to iOS gaming forums (i.e. Touch Arcade) is not much of a stretch... only iOS games will appreciate iOS games.
Looking back at comments by certain people, I find it sad that the people bashing ME think its there right to bash it, but when someone posts stuff about a game they like (like Infinity Blade) they get all up in arms at it. I seriously don't get it though, its your right not to like a game, but then why do you go about bashing it? If you really don't like the game, then why not post about how you think it could be improved (helpful criticism) rather than post comments like "This game is so stupid its full of bugs and is really repetitive, take it off the list, and anybody that likes it is just a fan boy that refuses to see how stupid the game is and how great some other game is".
I'm assuming you didn't even bother to read the very first post of this thread?: Sources: January GOTM February GOTM March GOTM This can be found in my signature in case you missed it: GOTY 2011 Q1 Complaints Have a great day everyone!
For what its worth, I have never posted in the ME threads, but i voted for it. I have all but one of the games listed, and though BH, LoE and TW are all great time wasters but for me ME was something I hadn't really seen, a real console type rpg for iOS, polish wise there is no doubt that Dead Space was better..but it should be it had money and resources of a major developer. I guess what I dont get is people freaking out over TW not taking the stop spot, dont get me wrong..its a good game, but face it your always going to get a "hardcore" tilt to voting...casual gamers typically dont seek out forums dedicated to gaming.
I voted Battleheart, the game just oozes with strategy, Replayability, graphics, polish, fun and whimsy. My second pick, according to the poll selection would be Dead Space. No other title packs as much bang for the buck and console punch - for that, Dead Space must be applauded. A couple games which should have made the polling selection: Super brothers: Sword and Sorcery Death Rally Max and the Magic Marker
Why the hell did I type "He got what he deserved" here rofl. That was meant for another thread. Fixed that.
Jesus. I'm not sure who's more annoying, the ME fans or the ME detractors. Anyway, I'm voting for ME even though it's has an extremely awkward, sometimes very annoying interface, less than impressive graphics (aside from the lighting and extreme backwards compatibility), often awkwardly written, typo-ridden dialogue, repetitive game-play (seriously, there are about 4 mission types total), cheesy voice acting, and numerous bugs. It comes across to me as sort of a cross between System Shock 2 (one of my absolute favorite games of all time), Diablo 2, and an amateur horror movie. I guess I enjoy it like I enjoy my Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. Granted, the game seems like it was designed for (a windows 98) PC, but as a lover of late 90's CRPG's, I can get over some clunky menus, bugs, and low poly models. Yeah, I can see why people would call it unpolished, ugly, and repetitive (because it pretty much is), but I can't help but love it anyway. It's like the Escape From New York of iPhone games.
