Hi friends. I'm so excited! I literally cannot stop shaking.. Apple has selected our game Ramps as iPhone Game of the Week! I feel like this is a huge win for indie devs everywhere, and proof that Apple really does give out love to the little guy (and trust me, we were nobody yesterday). I am particularly thrilled, as this is also our first iOS title. Here's the skinny on our new blog we just launched yesterday (yes, we are that scrappy and indie and new that we just launched our BLOG!): http://backabit.com/2011/01/20/game-of-the-week/ Please check back frequently. I will be posting more here and on our blog to document our experience of going from a game nobody wanted to review, to two weeks of New and Noteworthy, to now this insanely awesome point.
Ramps is a very cool game Congrats! It´s funny we are both sharing the Game of the Week by Apple now! But Pro Zombie Soccer Apocalypse Edition is ont he iPad section of the App Store Exciting!
Its a game of luck, and you hit jackpot on your first try Perhaps not as large a jackpot as the most successful of iOS titles, but its still a very good start. Good luck on your future projects, and congratulations.
That's great news! I haven't bought the game, but now I am off to do so. Seeing that I have lived in Portland my whole life, I can't help but support other Oregonians.
Rad dude! I'm going to bust out my iPad this weekend and take your game for a spin. Congrats to you for the iPad honors!
Thanks man, much appreciated! I've lived in PDX my whole life also and I believe Tyler (my business partner) has also. It's great to meet native Oregonians.. doesn't happen too much anymore. Are you working on a game or have one/some currently in the store?
Congratulations There is also an app store section for previous games of the week so it should guarantee quite a bit of downloads
Wow, rad! There are a ton of success stories for iOS game devs in PDX it's crazy. I had no idea you guys were from Portland. I feel like we should start a website or a group or something to pimp our Portlandness haha. Hey, you guys don't happen to have this office, do you? http://instagr.am/p/BDU3U/ I'm trying to figure out what company is here. Somebody on Twitter told me it was a game dev shop.
Well deserved! It's always awesome to see an indie beating all odds. I remember when you first posted info on your game here, and I immediately thought the polish and gameplay was worthy of success. I'm glad Apple saw that in your game as well. Congrats!
Nope, not our offices, but there is a group website for Portland Area game developers: http://www.pagdig.org/
