Hi guys, i recorded a short gameplay video of the game. perhaps this will help some of you. i really enjoy this game even if they screwed up the size. i hope there will be an update soon. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
updated issues and wishlist. love this game a lot that's why i'm writing this. played through year 50. could use a lot of polish to make it the true king of all iphone sim games. would be great if: - a competitor section with their games, releases, etc. this is a big wish. - better advertising section and explanation of how it affects hype, famous, if it does. it seems redundant to advertise different mediums when they don't add up, just take the place of one. - more in-depth everything like different conventions, concentration at conventions. more reason to why these exist? - more jobs and ability to do mulitiple projects at once and split teams. - why do my damn people keep leaving the seat and talking to others? which jobs hang out with which jobs? - what trait is best for CREATIVITY? - landscape mode. looks way too much like a direct port. needs POLISH like my games do in-game. - explanation of direction and what they do. - a section for reputation and where it gets decreased or improved by failing to finish goals/projects. - ability to retire your own consoles. - longer gameplay than 20 years (reason why so other consoles can be retired too. - set prices for your games. - does anyone know why sometimes one of my employees is available for character art and sometimes he is not? it's random... - ability to save. - do not understand directional/motivational use item. tips: TRAIN STAFF. BUY THE RESEARCH TO SPECS CONVERSION EARLY.
Very much agree... But it would be best if you forward this to it's devs.... By email or twitter etc.
Several hopefully quickly answered questions: 1.Does the Oil Baron or the Masked Man do anything extra or are they just oddities ?? 2.I had a sudden inspiration boost but how much stats do you need to get a game of the year? 3.How often do you advertise after/during release? 4.Is there several offices I'm on the second one
1. not sure. 2. I think around 300-200 each stat. 3. Not much. Try to make sure you have a game out around gamedex though. 4. there are 3 total I think.
So it's most likely impossible to win game of the year until your on the third office? Oh well thanks It's a shame that they didnt make it very clear if The Masked Man etc did anything worthwhile.
i have some questions too for anyone advanced in this game. thanks! 1) does low advertising become useless after a while? i seem to get no hype or fans. 2) how do i position my workers so that they don't talk to each other all the time. who hangs out with who for minimal travel time when they say "LOOK!" 3) what is best trait for creativity? 4) when i fail a contract job, where do i see my reputation go down? i don't see a stat for this. 5) when i get to choose who gets to do story, graphics, sound, not all of my workers show up even though they have a high stat for it. hackers sometimes and sometimes don't show up. i don't get this! 6) how does the "turn research into motivation" use item work? i don't quite get it.
Amazing! combos? Here's a list of Amazing! combos I've discovered: RPG + Fantasy Sim + Romance Action + Ninja Puzzle + Checkers Puzzle + Reversi Other combo descriptions I've had are (in order of what I assume is best): Creative. Not Bad. Hmm.... Nothing. Anyone know any other Amazing! ones? or have and ideas as to what for example Creative. or Hmm... mean?
Wait, what's that program? I really like it, and I want to send my friend videos like that every now and then to show him a cool app.
Has anyone figured out how to look at a game's direction (the initial menu with cuteness, approachability, etc.) once you start a project? Both the "Add research to motivate" item and the random event where you're awarded extra points to fine-tune the game's direction require you to be able to return to that menu, but none of us can find it. I have one other suggestion for the devs-- allow me to see ALL of a worker's roles and their levels, not just their current one. Currently the only way I can view their other roles is to initiate a job change, and if I don't have the item in stock, I'm out of luck. For instance, even if one of my workers is currently tasked as a sound engineer, they may also be a level 5 writer so it would be worthwhile to throw proposal work at them.
I'm confused. Whenever you look at a staff member, you can just scroll down to see their different role levels. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your query.
Spend the last four (!!) hours with this game. Its almost 5 o clock in the morning. i really love it. The numbers for my last two games are huge. Almost a million copys for the Super IES. "Last Hope" (Shooter + Monster) won the Global Game Award for Best Music, too. I think its time to spend 10 million on the PlayStatus Dev-Kit. @Jordanrracer Its called Display Recorder and its a Cydia App. I dont know the price at the moment. i think its something like 10 bucks.
I don't think you get points to help fine tune the current game's direction. You just get bonus points that you can add to future games' directions. That's why when you next start making a game, you see a couple points in reserve on the "game direction" screen.
Kinda wish this game had a 'hardcore' mode. It's pretty much impossible to fail =P Game dev in real life is intense and hard stuff. This game after 10 years, your churning out hall of fame games that sell millions in the first week like every half a year.... Not too realistic eh =P
You're totally right. I've managed to navigate my way around some of the questionable UI, but my friends and I had never noticed that there was a second Work History page for each employee. Thanks! That's actually not true most of the time. If you stumble onto an "Amazing" genre/subject combination as mentioned in a previous post, you'll get extra points to spend on the game's direction. I have not gotten the Motivate item to work consistently, if at all. Also, in the screenshot below, they are most definitely stating that I have bonus points to spend on my current game. Even if it's a translation error, I still can't consistently make extra points available for my next game project.
