MMO is sort of in the game, I just unlocked the "Online RPG" while leveling up one of my guys as a producer. I assume it works like any other genre, without the details you mentioned though. I'm busy working contracts trying to pile up the research points to earn a hardware engineer so I haven't tried it myself.
I consider the online RPG to be like Dialo and similar games. How do you level up the employees extra skills? I'd hate to use the skill change as their stats decrease.
As far as I can tell, this is correct. If you keep using the same people for each game they will get burnt out and not add as many stat icons to the game when they create the story/graphics/sounds. But at the same time, it all seems like kind of a crapshoot anyway. I've paid like 2.5 mil just to get an outside worker to do something for me and they end up just barely adding anything to the game anyway. It's really pissed me off actually. So now I just try to use my in-house people as much as possible, since it's free and because you can never tell how much someone is going to add to a game anyway (although I LOVE when they're adding stats to the game and they just keep going, and going, and going ) This doesn't exactly solve the issue you brought up, but just in case you didn't know you can go into the options screen and change the speed to "fast" and it makes everything run a lot faster. I'm at the point now though where I wish the fast setting ran even faster!
Y18, so about to finish the game, not sure if I want to play much longer after 20 years, maybe if I don't win the grand prize by then I will try for that. Game has eaten up so much of my time already, lot's of fun. Just wish I knew more about what for instance, my direction points did. And I wish there was more of a feeling of progression after about Y10, there should be even more offices, games should become to get more complex and as newer systems come out, and with much bigger production costs, contract jobs should get bigger, salaries should rise much higher etc. After a certain point, there is no difficulty. Still enjoying trying to hit even bigger milestones with your super team though. Wondering if there are any other solid stat-simulation/managment games on the app store? I have baseball superstars 2010 already, which is kind of similar. Looking for something to fill the gap this will probably leave(a gap i didn't know existed until very recently). Time managment and sim-city like games aren't really my cup of tea..
as far as the hardware engineer is concerned, what does it mean to master every job with one person? Does that mean to max out his stats in each individual category?
Check out Football Manager (and that is Soccer, not American Football). While I have not played the iPhone version myself, I'm pretty sure it is just a slightly streamlined version of the PC game that, even if not a soccer fan (I myself am not really a fan of an real world sports), the depth of the simulation is just mind blowing! What I loved in the PC game was the feeling that you were just managing this one team in an entire WORLD of soccer (not just dealing with little college and minor league players outside of your league, but players from all over the world to scout and potentially recruit).
The problem is they're a hacker. Use the item to change their job to Hardware Engineer, then you've got a hardware engineer And no, the big game award does not require all 10s. I had a game with a 37 total win the award.
Buying, hope its a good port, because from the sounds of it the PC version is just what I want. Love soccer too, so a greeat option to have.
love this game... but could use a lot of polish to make it the true king of all iphone sim games. would be great if: - a competitor section with their games, releases, etc. - better advertising section and explanation of how it affects hype, famous, if it does. - more in-depth everything like different conventions, concentration at conventions. - more jobs and ability to do mulitiple projects at once and split teams. - why do my damn people keep leaving the seat and talking to others? which jobs hang out with which jobs? - what trait is best for CREATIVITY? - landscape mode. looks way too much like a direct port. needs POLISH like my games do in-game. - explanation of direction and what they do. - a section for reputation and where it gets decreased or improved by failing to finish goals/projects. - salesman needs to sell BACKUP power supply so i don't lose my game points. more wants coming soon.
I hired a hacker with lvl 5 hardware engineering yet when I use the job change on him, hardware engineer is not an option.
seriously i have the same problem. the prices are waaay to expensive. how the heck are you guys making enough money?
I set it to fast pretty much at the beginning since most micromanagement games have that option. By the way I definitely recommend this game, I'm just trying to provide much needed feedback to give a game with this much potential the polish it needs! Right now if this is the game my game company developed in this game I would probably get a 8 7 8 8. Just a handful of quality of life improvements and bug fixes and you got 9 10 9 9! (4 10s if it had all the features from the PC version). Also for those talking about the hardware engineer...it's really frustrating when you look at your staff stats (you can scroll down to see their job history) and sometimes you see that they were a hardware engineer (I've even had a couple that had been level 5!) but when I use a job change ticket I don't get that option. Also when choose who will propose (write), who will do the graphics, and who will do the music, you only get to choose from SOME of your staff because the rest of the "slots" for the staff selection are taken up by outside contract hires. It's very irritating when some of my better staff don't show up when it's time to call on them for a role.
I could ask you a similar question: How are you not making enough money? I just made a new console (I just hired the monkey dude) and my best selling game was a fantasy rpg on the harpo drive that sold 40+ million units. Ah, good times.
I think it was mentioned in an earlier post by somebody else, but I'll reiterate it again. You basically need to use the purchasable job change item to level up a single employee on every job (writer, developer, producer, sound engineer, etc.) Level each job to the maximum level 5. Each job you level up to 5 will open up a new job until the Hardware Engineer job opens up. Then you'll be able to create a console. That's it! I love this game. For what it is, it's incredibly addictive. I'm on Year 68 right now and my MegaStation X is kicking ass and taking names. lol
lol do you get a bigger office or anything after the 2nd upgrade? This game gets pretty uneventful after like 10 years. Not much magazines or what not. Kinda disappointed, but I don't really remember the last iphone game that I played 5 hours straight =P Solid stuff. And nothing beats my 50million selling golf racing game "Bario Kart G"
a little embarrassed now... i didn't know i should actually pay for good workers haha. my top workers at level 5 had at most 110 skill... i got it fixed now. i hired the best workers and now their skills are at 400.
LOL Nice! Bario Kart G! Haha. No, unfortunately there aren't any more office upgrades after that. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if the Dev decides to give us some upgrades. But still a fun as hell game. Can't quite seem to be able to put it down. Just seeing if I can max out all my workers and win that coveted Grand Prize.
Anyone know if this game has any 'uber units'? I know there are unique dudes like mr. X and the Arabian oil king, and the bear, but is there some secret thing to do to make them good? Cause, as of now, I don't see a reason not to hire anyone besides hackers. you still haven't? I did that year 18 with "Balo 4" a robot shooter which got 39/40. I think it was probably because the dev's got that random 'motivated boost' that greatly raised all the stats.
Really loving the game, but I'm only being able to develop for older consoles. The new ones coming out are so expensive to obtain licenses for, and it's killing me. Any way to get more money? (ALready been doing contracts and releasing over 30 games)
