I wouldn't say its the same game as ゲーム発展途上国ⅡDX (PC version). The PC version plays a bit differently (being able to designate rooms for storage or things like saunas) and it displays a LOT more stats (ie. being able to compare game sales with other companies in real time weekly).
Man, this game is a time sucker. Just killed my battery after 5 hours of play. Was just getting a game over 2mil sales, hopefully it saved
Wow. This game is almost exactly what I've been pining for on the iOS front for months and months - a simple, amusing, superaddictive management game that isn't about football or stupid Sims! For all it's flaws (very repetitive, clearly a port of an old-skool mobile game) it had me up till 2am last night in bed, then today in every available break I was back on it. One big issue for me - how the heck do you rustle up the sort of money required to license the SDKs for the consoles? I managed enough to buy a GameKid license and then eventually scraped enough together for the PS1 license, but from that point on even though I smashed so many games out of the park, I never ever came CLOSE to the amounts required to get an Xbox license, or even a PS2. How!?
Also the game is just fab on an iPad doubled up. The graphics lose a tiny amount of sharpness but as they're pretty blocky to begin with you don't really lose much. In fact I'd say it makes playing much easier as you don't have to strain your eyes or stab at tiny hotzones on the screen
can someone please answer this? why do my in-house talent keep saying "oh i have to write another story AGAIN?" do they become less effective or something? should i hire more people to write or design?
It would be nice to skip the lengthy development animations (where icons drop down and get tallied). They get longer and longer as your developers get more skilled..and it's not very entertaining. Also notifications that popup to tell you that you've levelled a genre or a console is listing your game as a killer title should be easier to clear with a double tap. There should never be UI bottle necks in a management game. Also I find it pretty unbelieveable that I would have all of my games for a decade be #1 best sellers and always get outmatched for game of the year (usually by a faked nintendo title). Do they require 4 10s to win? The best I've gotten (several times) is 2 9s and 2 10s.
I am also wondering if there will be an iPad HD version announced two hours after I buy the universal one. I am having trouble resisting this game... must... wait just a... few days... more...
I agree with you that it's not the same game as ゲーム発展途上国ⅡDX. But I still think the iOS version is "based" on that game. Like all other games, the handheld version has lesser aspect compared to the PC or console version of the same game. But I still wish that the devs should of made the game for the iOS from the scratch, instead of just porting the Japanese mobile phone version.
This iphone game is an official port, at least that's what the translation said. I searched for ゲーム発展途上国ⅡDX, and I was wondering if there was an English version of the PC game?
I cannot for the life of me get my company to make a game console. It keeps telling me I need a hardware engineer, but I have a hacker on staff who is a level 5 hardware engineer and level 5 coder.
anyone figure out a good combo for employment? i have snd engineer, producer, director, graphics, coder, writer. honestly not sure what the hell the producer and director do. i was about to just fire them and make more artists so i can switch on and off from project to project so they don't tire out.
Yes , I know that it's the official port, when I wrote the game's "based" on the PC game , I meant the devs of the original PC version made the iOS version based on there own game. Didn't mean that some other devs made a clone or something if that's what you've meant. As far as I know, there isn't an English version of ゲーム発展途上国ⅡDX. It will be cool if the devs translates it to English, but currently the devs no longer deliver updates for the games or makes any new games for the PC. They only work on Japanese mobile phone, and iOS now. So chances are low for that.
The Japanese version of the game is basically a straight port of the mobile phone version (which explains some of the UI oddities such as the D-Pad) which is itself the sequel to ゲーム発展途上国 (ゲーム発展途上国ⅡDX is the direct sequel to the original PC game and is more feature rich than the mobile port). I hope this makes sense. (Source: http://www.kairosoft.net/pc/gamedev2.html http://iphoneac-blog.com/archives/3384672.html) And no, the PC games were not localized.
Wow, spoiler! Had no idea you could do this. Bought it this morning when I woke up, played it loads (was late for work), my girlfriend was watching me play, so bought it, went in to the office and Rich and Tom here got it. It's like a sim of my job - but it's distracting me from work. Totally loving it!
It's hardly a spoiler considering the capability is mentioned in the second sentence of the iTunes description.
