Ok, I went tried training every job at level 5 with every training method (or at least I certainly hope I did), nothing new. According to the achievement list I'm at 97% so presumably with the 2 it would be 100%...
The new update has broken the game for me. It now crashes when ending the awards show sequence. Also, the achievements aren't working properly. The sales achievements and staff hiring ones haven't registered at all. Damn it. I loved this game and can't play it any more. Don't they test these things?
Some of the achievements require that you start a new game/company. I was selling around 20 million games but could not even get the 100k achievement til I started a new game.
Yeah, I figured that. What's the point tho' if I can't get past the game awards screen without a crash.
Ya I just got the awards crash. Is it for all games or just ones already started. As in if I start anew game will it get through them?? I was just gonna try get some achievements quickly and then start a new game and get the early ones.
Meh useless update. Hope they update it with actual content, as I pretty much did everything in this game including maxing out every single staff on every single career, and win game of the year awards every single year now
Although a bit late, I'm really glad they implemented achievements. At core, this is a great game and worth it for achievement whores to play through the game once again even if they've already passed it. I'd of loved to see new content also, but this addition may give incentive for those that were on the fence to finally bite and buy the game. Good times!
Earning too many achievements at a time crashes the game. I literally can't get past the global awards. This sucks.
This update has got me re-addicted, plus I've luckily avoided all the crash issues that some others have reported. For some reason though I haven't triggered the "Fanboy" achievement yet. Add me on Game Center if you want to compete on the leaderboards: alyfantis. I've been playing for two days straight now to get myself higher but I'm stuck at #324. Someone take my iPod, please!
I replayed this game after achievements were added, and it's just as addictive as before. Going to go through a third time to try get the sell 100m copies before year 20 achievement, now that I know all tricks how to play best. I'm totally stuck at 97% of Game Expert achievement though :S (unlocking all game types). I've learned all I've found on the internet except the space and jumprope types, have no idea how to unlock those >.< If someone knows how to unlock them, please tell me Could also use advice on how to get a letter from a fangirl, and winning the worst game award (that one's a pain).
Your mileage may vary but I started a new game (don't save with this, you can still load your old save while this occupies the auto-save slot) and start developing as normal. I can't remember if the Awards ceremony unlocks after a certain time or after releasing a certain number of games etc. but for me I managed to enter around Year 4. Until then just play as normal. If it's time-based you can just leave the game on until you reach Year 4. Fire John Gameson, then just release crappy games. Check the guide here for the combination list. Use lousy ones like Table/Pirate or Puzzle/Ninja. Then just outsource to the worst staff, and release the game with bugs. Might need to take a few tries. You can also change Newb's job to Writer/Designer/Sound Engineer and use him instead of the outsource staff since he has lower stats. For the Space/Jumprope types nobody seems to have any idea for now. And for the fangirl letter, you'll get it eventually as you play. Releasing games popular with females might help, though I'm not sure of the genres/types. Maybe Romance games with direction points in cuteness?
Releasing a game with bugs doesn't necessarily net you the worst game award, believe me, I've tried. :/
Found an interesting combination that sold well... TRIVIA + EGYPT It even netted me 2 bonus direction points ^_^
So I sold 59 million yet I didnt get the 50 million achievement. Anyone else have this problem? I've sold over 50 million multiple times. Also my achievements for the toilet game and spaceship game seemed to unlock backwards.
