how do i unlock the fantasy type? i have played until the 21st years, but i have unlock the fantasy type. really like this game. pretty addicting.
ON the subject of hardware engineers, does anyone know if a member of staff who has already been a hardware engineer but is now a hacker can be changed back to one with the job change thingy? Or do I have to level people who have never been hardware engineer to unlock the job for them?
cool, thx. i assume you have to do it a few times tho? cos when i tried to do it with one hacker, the option to change to hardware engineer wasnt available even tho the guy had previously been one.
I know it may sounds a bit tough to do, but i'd like to have a part, in a sequel of GDS, where you can test your games, before the mass production, with simple minigames, just a stage or two, with very minimal graphics and sounds, but it could add realism and a bit of more action to the title. Only MHO.
hmm, i just ever tried it once and it just succeed at the first i tried it. i'll try it nexttime. by the way, have someone unlocked the fantasy type? i haven't unlocked it, how to unlock fantasy type?
This is the most addictive game I've ever played on the iDevice. It's simply AWESOME! Best 4 bucks I've spent on the app store. I recommend this to anyone who has ever thought about working at a games company or anyone who likes to smile. Year 18 and I see no end to the madness.
Because of their great fondness for sequels? Yes, a truly dreadful thing it is... EDIT: Time for constructive-ness, not just dry wit: Game Dev Story is an impressive piece of work, in a very non-impressive package. Don't be fooled. Enough to capture a non-gamer such as meself for hours. For fans of (micro)management simulations, there are few choices of equal value in the App Store. For people dreaming about starting their own game studios, there are none. For the rest of ya, buy it anyways.
It unlocked immediately as soon as I hired Miyamoto, probably cos of his higher stats? Anyway - he's old news fired him and hired Steve-o (Jobson), Walt Sidney and Charlize4 Theory(what??!?)
When your company finished developing your game a window will pop up and on the left of the window there is change name (or something similar) and on the right ship.
Seems a lot of folks are chasing the fantasy type. I just did a quick check and it seems that the answer I was about to give was wrong. First off, unless I'm completely sleep deprived, genres (such as Action, Adventure or RPG) are unlocked by leveling. Type (such as Chess, Monster or Fantasy) by training. That's why you sometimes get genres "for free" when hiring new staff. A producer that is lvl 3 allready when hired comes with the genres you normally would have unlocked by lvling him up from scratch yourself. But, now that I tried finding the fantasy type quickly, it turns out it's random. First try my writer got it when training reading, second time my sound engineer got it from training game. I haven't paid attention enough to say if the genres you unlock by leveling are random too. Not sure either if a worker has to be a certain level to be able to unlock certain types by training. Just make sure that you put all your employees at least once through every kind of training (even the ones you dont really want the stats from) and fantasy should pop up pretty early. And make sure to not get rid of your beginner kind of characters (coder, sound, writer, designer) before you've squeezed a bunch of helpful types out of them.
