Fahrenheit,to me,it's a little bit a pain with MAD CATZ,expecially when You need to do some circular movement with analogic sticks..it's not simple, and it's not,for me,quite well implemented..

If the controls are setup exactly like on the PS2 i dont think i'll have a problem with that. :)

I've never played the other versions, but personally, I've found the touch-screen version almost unplayable. It's worked well enough with the Mad Catz for me, though ;)

Could someone please add Active Soccer 2 in that list?
    It now supports MFI controllers

Just picked up the SteelSeries "Mini" controller... I'm jailbroken running iOS 8.1.1 on my iPad and iOS 8.1 on my iPhone.

Should I go ahead and update to iOS 8.1.2, since that's the latest firmware that can be jailbroken? Haven't tried to use the controller just yet. Just want to get some advice on whether their is better performance for MFi controllers on iOS 8.1.2..

8.1.1 was the big one for MFi controller fixes. The Stratus lagged like crazy under 8-8.1, but 8.1.1 should be okay. Make sure Apple is still signing 8.1.2 before updating, and if not, don't worry too much about it.

Make sure you update the Stratus to the latest firmware from SteelSeries' website, it might not work otherwise

Thanks for posting your initial experiences. I am "this" close to buying the mad catz micro, as it really seems the best value (quality and performance vs price) out of all of the current options.

Have you gotten around to hooking your phone up to the TV to get that "console experience" with MHFU yet? If so, how did you go about doing it? HDMI adapter? AirPlay? Some other way? How did it turn out?

Cool! That will probably be my next toy purchase, hehe.

I finally caved and ordered the Mad Catz micro. Thanks to a free trial of Amazon prime, I got two day shipping so I'll get to try it very soon!

It's awesome. MHFU especially plays great over HDMI with an MFi controller. It works great with Airplay too :)

Try un-pairing the controller, resetting the network settings on your iOS device, then re-pairing. 8.1.3 didn't change anything for MFi controllers as far as I know.

Hmmm, Is this viable for twitchier stuff?

I'm currently using my previous iPad 3 with a 30-pin HDMI adapter specifically for Retroarch TV-Out purposes, as it's the most powerful iOS combo possible that doesn't suffer the lag inherent with the Lightning HMDI adapter (which I've always steered clear of for that reason).

Have you tried any platform/fighting/racing games with that setup?

I've been doing a lot of RetroArch over Lightning and AirPlay, and while there is undeniably lag, it doesn't hamper playability in most situations for me.

Interestingly, the amount of lag decreases with more powerful devices. An iPhone 6 exhibits half to 2/3 the lag of an iPhone 5S.

How susceptible you are to lag, how new your devices are, and how fast the reaction times required in the game you're playing will all be a factor. But for me, it's playable. I was just playing Super Smash Bros with the iPad Mini 2 in a Gamevice over AirPlay, and I didn't feel like I was losing anything to lag!

Interesting... I might have to give the Lightning version a try on my Air 2 in that case. I suppose I can always return the adapter if I'm not happy with it.

It's not as good as native HDMI would be, but it's improved leaps and bounds since A6 devices running iOS 7. The entire compression algorithm was changed in iOS8, and device performance has increased significantly.

    Worth a shot, I'd say!

My Mad Catz Micro C.T.R.L.i just came in, and I have to say it's pretty sweet!

I was a little apprehensive when I saw just how much smaller it is than a standard PS3 controller (I knew it was smaller, but wasn't sure how much smaller to expect), but after using it for a bit, I'm pretty comfortable with it.

Mine doesn't have any of the dead zones that some have reported. When I paired it up, a message popped up that linked me to the app store to download the management app. The app is nice to check for firmware updates (mine came with the latest firmware already) and check the responsiveness of the controls, but it also had a list of games that work with the controller, which is kind of cool.

The first thing I fired up was Oceanhorn, and it plays like a beauty.

The clip holds my iPhone 6+ just fine, but I do wish I could adjust the angle it sits at a little bit. I would like it to lean back just a little bit more. But it's not a huge problem, and I still liked using the clip. I also like that the clip is detachable for when I want to use it with my iPad or for when I get an hdmi adapter and play games on my tv.

The overall feel of the controller is surprisingly good. I haven't used a Mad Catz controller since the PS1 days, and they felt pretty cheap back then, so I had my worries. But this thing feels solid and the buttons and analog sticks all feel good and have the right amount of tension.

It runs on AAA batteries, which I like, because I have enough crap to keep charged as it is, lol.

All in all, I have to say that my initial impressions are that this was well worth the $40 I spent on Amazon for it.

Now time for some Monster Hunter! :D

^Boom! Exactly the same experience here man!

First time i touched it it actually felt too small! :D

Until i fired up a few games with it and it easily clicked into my muscle memory, despite having very little experience holding an xbox-layout controller, since my experience is always with a playstation layout.

Have fun with the Madcatz Micro! Im personally having a blast playing with it!

I recommend playing trying it out with Minigore 2, Star Horizon, Traps N Gemstones, Dodo Master, Phantom Rift and KOTOR!

Still havent tested it in all of my MFi-supporting titles, but those are the ones where it shines IMO.

So Guys,i've a question for all having MAD CATZ Normal C.T.R.L.I,i bought it on AMAZON some months ago,i talk about The clip,i've an iPhone 6 plus, with Apple Silicon Case, and look at The Specific of The clip :3.17 (80.5mm)Max,it should fit The iPhone 6 plus with Apple silicon case, but it seems that you can bend or break at any moment, at least the feeling is that, maybe it's me,maybe it's cause there different reports about, every 2,3 days i receive from Amazon,my feedback about that, cause lot of people Who want buy ask that, and i see in The reply section the opinions are different,Someone write: it fit at last my normal iPhone 6,other's say:no,it don't fit iPhone 6 plus with silicon case, other say yes,it fit, since here on TA Forum lot of users have different controllers, for those that have MAD CATZ C.T.R.L.I Standard, with an iPhone 6 plus and a silicon case, how You Feel about? Thanks guys

Well I don't have an iPhone 6 Plus, so don't read too much into what I say here.

From what I've been seeing on the internet, it's the Micro CTRLi clip that has issues, not the regular CTRLi. And the part that breaks is the little plastic connector at the bottom of the clip, not the clip itself.

I don't see how the regular CTRLI's clip would break. It seems to be a pretty solid design, and the clip attaches to the controller with a screw, rather than by forcing two pieces of plastic together.

If something does go wrong, Mad Catz has a good track record with support; they'd probably send you a replacement clip
