For me it took 10 days from when I ordered from Mad Catz to when they cancelled the order. I ordered on 11/25, and got the cancellation email on 12/5. When I ordered from Amazon it said they were out of stock, but then the next day I got an email saying it had shipped.
@kmecleod: thanks again!Looks like the micro will be totally fine,i even think the normal sized Ctrli would be a tad to big for me (since it's a bit bigger than the x360 and this is the maximum i would like).
To me it looks like the CTRLi is exactly the same size as the Xbox controller, or maybe ever so slightly smaller. I should be getting my CTRLi today, so I'll compare it to the Xbox controller when I get home tonight and let you know.
Thanks,it looks slightly bigger on the pics and it was mentioned in the afterpad review as well: http://afterpad.com/post/104687959550/the-mad-catz-c-t-r-l-i-the-afterpad-review
I ordered a Madcatz Micro on ebay now for 45,-€ (free delivery).best deal i found.Should be here on friday/saturday.Can't wait
It's a tiny, tiny bit bigger. Maybe it just feels bigger due to the design, it does feel REALLY close. The Micro is definitely smaller, but still comfortable. It appears off and on, last time it sold out in under 30 minutes!
Has anyone successfully received the ctrli from the mad catz web site? Or has everyone gone through Amazon? I live in NZ so it's been a bit of a mission trying to get one here and I don't really want to wait a month or so to find out Iv been canceled, also iv ordered in white and haven't seen a white one on Amazon yet.
iOS 8.1.2 have fixed the MOGA REBEL,and others Bluethooth controllers? Someone experience better performance in this minor update?
I know I saw people posting about having received a CTRLi directly from Mad Catz soon after they were released. I have no idea whether anyone has successfully gotten one from Mad Catz recently though.
No, it doesn't come with a cable, nor does it support being charged with a cable. It has a micro USB port, but the manual explicitly says this port is not for charging, only for firmware updates. The CTRLi uses two AAA batteries, which can of course be rechargeable.
The white CTRLi doesn't exist yet, not on Mad Catz's website, not anywhere. Played Bioshock with my CTRLi, running 8.1.2, no problems to report, no lag, no connection issues.
Mad Catz CTRLi impressions I just got a chance to spend a few minutes with my new CTRLi, the full size one. I haven't had a chance to compare it with my Xbox controller yet, so can't comment on their relative size, but in general it feels pretty similar to the Xbox controller, with a couple of noticeable differences. The analog sticks on the CTRLi have more spring tension than my Xbox controllers. At first I didn't like that, but after playing with it for a few minutes I think it might actually make it easier to be precise with the analogs. The other difference is that the heads of the analog sticks are slightly smaller than on the Xbox controller. I don't like that, but again I think that might just be my initial impression because it's not what I'm used to, since after playing for a few minutes I stopped noticing that. I also tried one platformer that uses the D-pad, and thought it worked fine. I see what people are talking about when saying the D-pad feels a bit cheap compared to the rest of the controller, but in practice I didn't notice any problem with it. I'm not a big d-pad user though so probably not the best judge. The triggers are excellent, much better than the pressure sensitive triggers on the SteelSeries, which especially sucked for driving games or other games where analog trigger control was needed. The CTRLi has full travel triggers just like the Xbox controllers. Overall I love it. It feels just as high quality as my Xbox controllers, and also as an Xbox user I like the fact that it has the same layout and shape so it's easy switching back and forth.
I tend to go through Amazon on stuff like this. I've heard horror stories about ordering through Mad Catz, and the design of their storefront seems like a bit of a mess. The different C.T.R.L.i and Micro C.T.R.L.i color options are all showing up on Amazon now, though they're all listed as temporarily out of stock.
HoriPad @kmacleod I'm about to take the plunge on a HoriPad, have you found any significant issues? As long as there is no lag and the D-pad works nicely as you mentioned I should be happy.
No issues at all here, it works flawlessly. Best d-pad of any MFi controller so far, zero lag. Great analog sticks too, though the non-staggered layout might turn off Xbox gamers.
Still waiting for my micro but in the meantime i stumbled over this review and the guy is really trashing the sticks, also from the bigger Madcatz. http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Mad+Catz+CTRLi/hardware_review.asp?c=62920 I'm aware that the smaller size comes along with a little less prescision but are they really THAT bad?I would like to play some shooter/Action stuff as well (Oddworld,Battle Supremacy...).But i guess i will be satisfied if the sticks are at least better than on the mini stratus.Prescision is really bad on the stratus stick. Anyway, this is also the website that voted the Stratus XL to best available controller (how carefully did they test it?) and gave Strangers Wrath just a 5.So i tend to believe other reports more ;-) http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/SteelSeries+Stratus+XL/feature.asp?c=62962
