Got my controller in a few minutes ago. Wow! Much better than I expected. At least as good as a 360 controller and the same size and weight from what I can tell. I shot a quick unboxing and review... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzQohO-nFxQ&feature=youtu.be
Awesome! I should have a review unit myself in a few days, but glad to hear people are starting to receive theirs
Good! I don't know if wait MOGA REBEL hit Europe or buy the MAD CATZ,the question is MAD CATZ Iphone clip can handle my iPhone 6 plus with the case? It's max 3.17 inch clip so I think can't handle..
The MOGA Rebel definitely opens wider, but I'm not sure if the Mad Catz supports the case. Caseless should be fine
that would be downright silly if it didn't fit a 6+ with a modest case. 6+ is 3.06 inch vs the 3.17 of the stand. 6+ owner myself. I grabbed one off of amazon today, should have it tomorrow, will find out soon enuf, will be going straight back to amazon if it doesn't fit my 6+.
Thank you for that video review, Steve. Ive been waiting for this to come out and almost bought a MOGA but decided to wait. I ordered the CRTLi while I watched your video and am hoping it will arrive soon.
Agreed, but it was based on an earlier Android controller, and presumably shares the same attachable grip. I have the Android version, and it doesn't open THAT wide. Not as far as the Rebel.
I checked the spec on the 6+ and it won't be a problem. It's listed as 3.06 inches. I stuck a Vita in the clip and it fit no problem. The Vita is right at 3.25 wide so it's not an issue.
Yeah got mine today, the 6+ with case fit fine with room to spare. It would take a bulky case like the shockproof ones(name escapes me) to not fit
Thanks for the heads up,I order today on amazon,I've the 6 plus and the silicon apple case..it's small
Yeah mine is full sized as well, which in comparison, is a smaller footprint then a xbone controller. In general, I'm happy with it. It's got the buggy characteristics that others have with iOS 8 but in general when working, it works great. Played ridge racer, asphalt 8, reckless racing 3, a few others and it controlled like a dream. Had the hardest time getting it to work with wind up knight 2, game kept crashing out if controller connected but did get thru eventually. iOS 8 bugs are the real deal, causes erratic behavior, some games not sized right, some games still not properly set up for controllers, others work even though nothing in the settings to indicate as much(ridge racer, had to pick touchscreen control overlays instead of tilt for controller to work) but nothing that's failt of controllers. Didn't experience any lag. As for build quality, I don't have the moga rebel to compare to but I have original moga non extended controller, the stratus and I do have other moga controllers for other devices like android. This one is more solidly built then what I have had experience with others. It is most assuredly not xbone, dual shock, even wii u quality build but it's as good as I have seen. If moga rebel is like their other controllers in general, then this is a better build then that too. It feels quality, the analog sticks has decent tension. Not much a fighter fan so can't comment on d pad other then it seems functional. The clip as reported does seem to be more then 3.17 in wide and has a good angle in relation to controller. Little disappointed angle is not adjustable and I would have preferred the Folding solution of moga rebel but it's solidly built, the spring tension is very solid as well. I also would have preferred a rechargeable battery solution but behind the battery compartment is a micro usb slot for fw upgrades. End of the day, I'm happy with it, to finally have a solid solution I know I'll use instead of expensively bought dust collecting solutions that should have been returned warms the heart. I believe I made a better choice in getting this over the moga rebel because at 20$ more for the rebel, it's just too much to pay. Even without ios 8 bugs, the games themselves can bring bugs to where it's just not worth spending that much even though I did, twice before. Also given Moga's track record with build quality, if that carried over into the rebel then I got the better controller. My issues are personal ones that frankly some of probably kept the costs down anyway and end of the day aren't deal breakers.
So I got my controller a few weeks ago and been trying a few games and it's been hit and miss. Some like gba4ios are amazing (seriously that alone is worth the purchase) and some like Mikey Boots I didn't care for. Was curious if some of the more seasoned mfi veterans could list their favorite mfi games. Thanks and if it's been done already a link it all I need.
I'm not sure what the rules on links are so I won't but Pocketgamer maintains a great best of each genre mfi list that's easy enuf to google. That said, like you said it is hit and miss, often feeling like more misses. Some seem to be controller specific too, I could get jet car stunts 2 to recognize somewhat my stratus even though play was very buggy. Didn't see my mad catz ctrli unless I first connect the stratus and add the ctrli next then shut off stratus. I'm a racer nut so those have been fun, leo's fortune is a must play, incredible game. if you like the older games, gta san andreas is good, haven't tried it since the new controller. There are 400 some odd games for mfi out there but imo, only 20-30 of them are of any decent quality as far as game quality goes.
I'm thinking about ordering the Mad Catz C.T.R.L.i, but I wanted to ask about the iOS 8 bugs. How bad are they? Should I wait or just go ahead and purchase, knowing that I've been waiting months for a decent controller to come out.
