Not sure - Warner Bros has a decent track record with MFi support, so it's possible ;)

Probably been asked a million times already in this massive thread but what is a good cheap controller for an iPhone 4S. Don't want to spend a lot on one for two reasons:

    1. Probably limit usage of it to gaming right before bed (my wife would kill me playing with it on spending time with her -- and it's easier to make it look like I'm webbrowsing.

    2. Will eventually get an iPhone 5 or 6 so don't want to spend a lot on one that won't for on the larger screen sizes.

Here's one clearanced for just $20 on ToysRUs' website (says iCade mobile controller):

    http://m.toysrus.com/skava/static/product.html?type=TRU_product_us&url=%2Fproduct%2Findex.jsp%3FproductId%3D13072725%26mr%3Akeyword%3D%26mr%3AtrackingCode%3DC55D6366-7315-E311-A497-90E2BA285E75%26mr%3Amatch%3D%26mr%3AadType%3Dpla%26mr%3Afilter%3D38524433806%26cagpspn%3Dplat_13131808%26mr%3AreferralID%3DNA%26mr%3Aad%3D35201236486%26mr%3Adevice%3Dm%26camp%3DPLAPPC-_-PID13131808%26KPID%3D13131808&domain=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.toysrus.com

Is this one any good? Are there other good ones at a low price point?

I got one of those when they came out. It's not very mobile and uses batteries rather than being rechargeable via USB. You also can't access the volume button when the phone is in the rubber casing. I did enjoy it though, but it only played iCade games and won't work the new MFi games, which are a lot better. I loved it with Minter's games and Mikey Shorts was beautiful with it. I think I'd hold on if I were you but there are hundreds of iCade compatible games. With the MFi controllers to date even if they're Bluetooth (like the stratus) they need a lightning connector so the only way to get the 4S going with that is to jailbreak and use a PS3 controller (or Wii Pro). I did this with my old iPad2 but wouldn't recommend if it's your primary device. It is pretty wicked though if you don't mind jb'ing but not very discrete as the controller will be bigger than your phone.

Thanks! Just what I needed to hear. Ashame that Apple doesn't offer PS3 support natively as I don't really want to JB.

And, yeah, the more I read about MFi support, I also found it requiring the lightning connector. Oh well, don't know if I'll go the iCade route. May just wait until my next phone upgrade and get a MFi controller. By then, prices, compatibility and the builds of the controllers themselves are likely to be better.

The only way you're going to get MFi support without lightning is by jailbreaking, sorry. If you do decide to jailbreak, the iPega 9025 was recently added to Controlers for All. That is a very cheap controller with decent reviews.

Wow - I'm going to get one of those for my son who's going to inherit my 4S. Just saw it for £17 on Amazon. Top man.

Sphero went ios 7 controller compatible today, atleast the main app. I have the original, charging it up, will give it a go tomorrow probably but if all the other sphero apps add it too, that opens up quite a bit

Hey everyone, Stickman Base Jumper was just updated for MFi controller support. Plays great, seems a lot of fun.

Cool, I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard it works well! :)

That sounds very cool, let me know how it goes!

Thinking of getting an Ipega 9025 for use on an old iPhone 4 I never use anymore. Wonder if enough games/emus will work at a decent sped to make it worth it. I don't want to jailbreak my main phone (iPhone 5).

I just got my ipega delivered today. Can't use until Friday though but it actually feels more solid than the steel series. If it works as it should it's going to be a beauty.

    Hiyas all.

I have been working with alot of developers for implemention of MFi Game Controller support. Today is a release day of one of them.

Here is a video that the dev made long ago when we were discussing MFi Game Controller support for Triblaster

    -------

The devs comments to me about MFi Game Controller support about 4 months ago.

I picked up the Moga Ace during the week. It wasn't that difficult to integrate and tweak the controls to work well. Check out the video below:

    -------

Reprint from the main thread of Triblaster

Hiyas Bronxsta, here are my impressions and some screenshots. If you have any further questions please ask. This game too has MFi Game Controller Support.

So a short summary of the new iOS release Triblaster for iphones and ipads. This game is similar to the old school Tempest game. Think of it as a modern day rendition with alot of new features, and with touchscreen controls. Of course it is cool too, if you have a MFi Game Controller, cause you can also play Triblaster with an ios 7 joystick, and heck for an ios console like feel, hook this up to HDMI, and you pretty much have an arcade system that would be worthy of the old school Tempest Cabinets.

This game has alot more to it than just being a Tempest game though, features like the jumping, the laser beam, awesome bosses, and cool looking ships all add to this really cool vector like shoot em up game.

Personally, I really like it, I would highly recommend it, and for a buck, it is a must buy!

    Cool Tempest like play.

A cool looking energy replenishing boss.

Upper levels are even better looking.

    -------

Cool looking pictures from the Triblaster beta, man, the upper levels look really cool.

So long, From the Connector! :)

Fantastic fling things above. I just tried the ipega and it's absolutely fantastic. If you're happy to jb then it's £20 well spent for an MFi controller. It works as an iCade controller too. Still love the portability of the steel series and the solidity of the PS3 controller but the ipega works very, very well and for the price it's absolutely fantastic.

Latest Shadow Blade update breaks controller support. I asked Crescent Moon and Dead Mage, and full controller support is coming soon. For now, don't update...

Ava's Quest HD was updated with controller support.

Into The Shadows... I'm guessing standard contollers. All I have is a PS3 controller and I can only move around with it. Ava's is working though.
