Could someone start a new thread that actually gets updated?

Just re-read the engadget article on the madcatz controller and i noticed it says April as the month it's going to be released in. Long wait, but it could be worth it.

Yeah, that's the only place I've seen that, though. Not sure if it's true... time will tell

High hopes for new one by mad catz. I've got a moga that I don't use because it's not bluetooth and case compatible, got a steel series I don't use because it doesn't clip on the phone and is ridiculously way too small. This one checks all 4 of those complaints on paper. 200$ in wasted gear in search of a functional controller that would be something is actually reach for in real world practice. Hoping this answers that bell finally.

I watches the demo video for the new mad catz controller, it stated it supported all ios 7 devices. I really hope that is true, but I suspect it will only work with the lighting port models like the steelseries controller.....

Oh!! Interesting catch richdmoore! The iOS controller API fully supports any device that can run iOS 7. So it's possible the Mad Catz controller will work with the iPad 3 and iPhone 4S.

It's not clear to anyone yet whether that's an arbitrary limitation from Apple, a hardware limitation of the bluetooth / lightning protocol, or just a missed opportunity from SteelSeries. Hopefully we'll know soon enough..

Would be nice if someone could determine whether or not Apple's decided to lock out pre-lightning devices from these BT controllers for some oddball reason. My son's iPhone 4 (just for games) is one of the reasons I'm holding out on getting one.

Anyone know if the jailbreak controllers tweak works on there? I'd seriously consider getting a DS3 controller + JB both phones if so.

I know the jailbreak works fine on the iPad 3 and iPhone 4S - not sure on 4, but I'd imagine it would...

    The problem is iOS7.
I should imagine it works fine on all JB devices

If I still had one, I'd jailbreak the heck out of it and find out! It would be nice if someone with an iPhone 4 would let us know. Maybe I can find someone...

EDIT: Searched online and I've seen a few references to people saying they tested it with an iPhone 4, and it worked. Seems to be good news...

Should be ok on JB iphone 4
IOS7 on any device other than ones with a lightning port , BT MFi game controllers will not work.

At least the SteelSeries won't - we aren't sure about the Mad Catz, or other future controllers, yet.

Just saw on your website that Deathsmiles has controller support. Fingers crossed for the full Cave catalogue now.
Also - great reviews of Real Racing 3 and Royal Revolt 2. Absolutely spot on.

    Thanks!

I forgot to post about DeathSmile here, sorry! Yeah, that got updated for controller support. I'm actually surprised - Cave announced on twitter that they were closing the English Twitter account and withdrawing from US. Glad that didn't mean the games as well ;)

None of the other Cave games work with controllers yet, but I'll post as soon as they do - hopefully soon :)

I can confirm iPad 3 and iPhone 4S support. At this point, no reason to assume the iPhone 4 was left out...

Dammit. Someone needs to have another stab at sneaking the latest iMame4All or Gridlee variant into the App Store. I use Gridlee more than anything, and it's only missing MFi support(impossible, since it was pulled,
I jailbreak when I can, but a 'legit' option is prefered, for those periods when jailbreaking isn't possible - new hardware etc. :(
