Thnx Kev, I just realised it had'nt updated..doh! Updating now.. Had the game for a while, enjoyed it but stopped playing because of that "flip you around" bug was just too annoying.. Time to get back into it .
Yeah, that was really irritating. The new version changes it to free to play, which is disappointing. But at least you can look around now!
Just tried this one, only the left analog stick moves your boxer around the canvas.. The action buttons (A,B,X,Y) do nothing.. Changing the control options in the menu.. Does nothing they are all the same.. You have to press the onscreen buttons to throw your punches.. Bit bad really.. Not worth any money in my opinion.
I look forward to hearing your impressions! Yeah, I'll take a look at adding a "continue" button press for the cut scenes. I was thinking the same thing with the tip dialog, so I might try to do both of those. Cool, I'm glad there haven't been other crashes. Unfortunately if you are running less than 7.0 then the game will crash immediately at start. Still hoping to see another update come through today. Ha, love hearing that! Glad you are having fun playing Mikey Shorts again with the controller. We'll hopefully be submitting an update for Mikey Hooks soon. At this point we're hoping to work out all of these little kinks so as to avoid another crashing issue!
Yeah, we've been talking about it for the past 2 pages It's not out yet, that was posted a little prematurely. It should be part of tonight's release schedule...
Just tried mikey with steelseries on iPad Logitech on iPhone. For some reason I prefer it on the Logitech as it just fits the d-pad perfectly and the buttons on the Logitech just feel better than the SteelSeries ones for jumping and sliding. Top just one thing, Mike, when the screen is untouched for a little while whilst I'm collecting coins or looking for those golden underpants the screen fades. If that could be fixed it would be great. Also, and no biggie if I it could all (ie menus etc) be worked with the controller (a la badland and Babylonian twins) it would be magic. No big shakes but just whilst I was typing. I have such a backlog of games but yet I'm more than happy to go back to Mikey - fantastic stuff.
Great! That's a great point about the auto-locking mechanism. That is something Apple should handle for us behind-the-scenes when a controller is connected. But I guess I can disable it when we detect that a controller is attached. I'll look at doing that. In the mean time, you could go into Settings->General->Auto Lock and change the value manually. I have a feeling we will get a lot of requests to add menu support to Mikey Shorts. We've actually added it to Mikey Hooks! We're not opposed to adding it to MS at some point, but I'm not sure when.
Yes, most MFi compatible games actually don't support menus or block auto lock. I'm assuming Apple makes it difficult to do those things, but it's worth it
Yeah, I was thinking that a lot of MFi games probably won't support the blocking of auto lock (it obviously hadn't crossed my mind at all!). The documentation doesn't even make any mention of it. Hopefully Apple will deal with that at some point in the future. But there appears to be a very simple way to deal with blocking auto-lock. So I'll make that change for the next update. Menu support is really nice, but it is a huge pain in the butt to add, so I can see a lot of developers skipping that completely. But it will definitely be in Mikey Hooks and future games. I'm still hopeful that Apple will introduce a new Apple TV + games + game controller support. I figured people will have a much easier time navigating the full game via a controller.
Sorry ... it is available on the New Zealand AppStore , should be available US store sometime today..
Too many good games being updated. Too little time. I haven't use my ipad since last week. What FPS do you recommend guys? I like Dead Trigger 2, but it needs internet connection every time you play it. I have COD ST, but I am a hard time controlling my players.
Dead Effect Neon Shadow Respawnables (3rd Person, but still a shooter) Gunner Z That's it for shooters. What I really want is for Madfinger to update Shadowgun Dead Zone, Gameloft to update their back catalog (especially the games that had Duo Gamer support already) and for Foursaken to update their back catalog................is that too much to ask?
Ouch, that's not good, I'll remove it from my list and mark it as broken - thanks! Yeah, that's about it. Fur Fighters is an amusing 3rd person shooter, ported from Dreamcast I believe. I'm not much of a fan of Gameloft, but it would be nice to see more games ported.
I recommend: Respawnables Trigger fist Modern combat 4: zero hour Tom clancy's rainbow six vegas( old but still pretty good)
With the exception of Respawnables, none of those games support controllers. I think the original poster was asking for games with controller support, but I'm not sure...
Hey... I know this isn't really related to what I quoted... but I wanted to say thank you for keeping your own site up. I had no clue that Anomaly 2 or Ms. Pac-Man were supported... Great job! =oD
