Blutrol but it currently isn't compatible with iOS7. I think they're working on it and I am very much looking forward to it.
To me, that seems like the type of thing that would never work well enough to be worth bothering with. I'll give it a shot if it ever comes out, but consider me skeptical...
Yep, always seemed a faff to me but now I've jail broken one of my devices I can't wait to have a crack just for some old platformers and fighters.
I'm more hopeful that developers will patch their games the right way, but yeah, I'll give it a shot on my old jailbroken iPad if it ever gets patched...
It works brilliantly actually, have used it for a wide variety of games. I'm sure others here will agree, essential jailbreak app, can't wait 'til they update it for iOS 7.
Wait, wait. Are you saying I can pair my PS3 controller, and then use it to play games that are normally only touchscreen? I mean, as soon as Blutrol is patched for IOS 7 that is? Explain how it works, please. I'm freaking out here just a bit, with ideas of playing Mission Europa with a controller
It doesn't work with every game, it's trial and error basically. How it works is you take a screenshot of the game (with on-screen controls) and then you go into the Blutrol app and assign the on-screen joypad/buttons to the actual joystick/buttons of your controller of choice. Like I said, it won't work for every single game, but I had great success with a large number of games, particularly platformers and racing games. Think the developers said the iOS 7 version should be out this month, so you'll be able to try it yourself soon.
Of course, that probably makes things like pressure sensitivity difficult - it'll be interesting to see how they manage to compensate for that.
I also can sing the praises of BluTrol. I've had it since day one. It's a pretty amazing tweak. The only trouble I ran into with it is in games that don't have a virtual control option. Dead Space is a good example of that. Other than that, it works REALLY well, and offers you a controller experience with games that will probably never update for controls. I played the crap out of Rayman Jungle Run with a controller, and a ton of others. I really can't recommend it enough, but, as was previously stated, it won't work with every game. Infinity Blade? No. Most other games? Definite yes.
It won't be possible for them to include pressure sensitivity as there is with MFi since Blutrol merely maps controller input to touch input. There are plenty of videos demonstrating Blutrol, for those of you who are curious about how it works. As already mentioned, some games may be impossible to play with Blutrol layouts, but other games may require some careful thought about how to map buttons; a bit of a puzzle game in itself Jump to 2:10 to skip the remote pairing. I don't really see the need for it. Controllers for all works exactly like every MFi controller and we can discuss the updates to the other tweaks here. Blutrol is a bit different but it's not updated yet for iOS 7 so there's nothing to talk about really.
Exactly my point.. Thought this is called "Game Controller Supported Games list" more people interested in BluTrol,Controllers for all etc.. Start a thread..
That sounds fair to me - Blutrol deserves it's own thread for sure, but I can see treating MFi controller mods the same as regular controllers.
I do agree but apologise for mentioning Blutrol, was just trying to help the person who asked if such a thing existed. I have 2 MFi controllers and uses a DS3 on a jb device and it really is all the same to me. DS3 pips them all so far for me although I spent most of last night on 2k Drive with the SteelSeries.
Maybe we should start another thread about people who want to start another thread! RELAX!!!! Someone asked a question and it was answered. Out of the almost 100 pages if this thread, maybe 2% of the posts mention something other than MFi controllers. I don't see this thread being hijacked any time soon.......
