I just noticed that Final Fury's icon has been updated to show controller support. I hope more devs do this to help us easily distinguish between those games with and without controller support until it is the norm.
That's a heck of a controller! Not sure id recommend jailbreaking for it, but I'd like to see more official controllers like it... Nah, I've always thought the feature-on-the-icon thing was tacky. I remember it all over the openfeint / plus+ era. The burdon of fixing this is on Apple. ...although I'll do my part as well
Nope - needs lightning adapter, which is a bit silly, I think. It's a good controller, but may be small for some people. I can easily take it travelling with work as it's really well packaged. For non-lightning JB is the only way and I have to say my old iPad2 with it's DS3 is probably still mine and my kids' favourite. My eldest was very underwhelmed with the SteelSeries.
"Crazy Snowboard" adds support. What's new - Supports MOGA and other MFi game controllers on iPhone and iPod touch - All new updated OpenGL graphics - Realtime shadows - Lighting and bump maps - All new snow effect particles - New terrain models: more realistic trees, rocks and snow materials - Same great gameplay!
It won't, no - I'm not sure if it's because of policy, or if there were actual differences in the bluetooth spec between those devices. Still unfortunate...
Well... I can't get Commander Pixman, Cromag Rally, Fractal Combat X, Republique, Superstar Chefs, Sunshine and a couple more to run on my MOGA controller... am I doing something wrong?
Most of those games don't work with either controller, no. I have FCX and Republique listed as broken on my list. Superstar Chefs, Sunshine, and Commander Pixman never claimed to be compatible - I have absolutely no idea why this thread includes them, but the list in this thread is very inaccurate and incomplete. Cro-Mag Rally works perfectly for me though, that's an odd one - try restarting your controller (paperclip to the hole on the top of the back of the moga). Double check that Cro-Mag rally doesn't require manually enabling the controller in the settings, too.
Just to clarify, I tried Cro-Mag rally again now, and it should pop up with a game center notification saying "CONTROLLER CONNECTED" (which I'd love more developers to do BTW). Also, in the settings, you can change Steering Controls from Accelerometer to Game Controller
Sweet!!! i played the crap out of sonic 2 with my moga. I have the other games but i was just holding off on them until they got support. Once you play the game with a controller you don't EVER want to go back to touch controls. So far 2/3 of all the games on my personal wish list have gotten support. I'm loving the dev community right now! If Deus ex and modern combat 4 get support my head will explode.
Okay, that makes me feel quite a bit better. Thanks! Also, I just retried CroMag Rally and I think it just crapped out last time I tried it (needed a reset). Sorry bout that. I'm gonna have to try a couple others to see if that's what happened with any others.
I know, tell me about it! Lots of great games getting support these days. I waited on Sonic CD and Sonic 2, but I played the heck out of Sonic 1 back when it was just a thinly wrapped ROM in a Sega branded emulator Many of my favorites have been updated, but theres still a few waiting. I still remember when Soul Calibur finally received iOS7 support last week... downloading the update, installing, booting, and finding that controllers still weren't supported - such a letdown! Hopefully the rest of the devs will jump on board soon! Nah, it's not your fault - the Moga is really flakey, I can promise you that this won't be the last time you have to reset it for no reason at all. Worth it when it works, but disappointing nonetheless. The Logitech is definitely a more solid product in that regard - I still can't believe the Moga shipped without the ability to play and charge at the same time. I'm reasonably sure the other games you mentioned don't work either way, though. Republique lets you control the camera and not much else. Fractal Combat sort of works, but crashes constantly...
Quick question - is there any Cydia apps that allow for a physical controller to emulate the touchscreen inputs on a screen, or is that just impossible?
