I'd say get the steelseries if you can - it's not much more expensive, and it's much less of a headache long-term.

It does work relatively well, yeah. Syncing with the mac was a little tricky, but once you do it, it's done.

Ds3 works amazing. No issues with BTstack. Just turn on an MFi compatible game and it will auto detect the ds3 controller. Then press the ds3 home button to play. Done.

$40. That's all I will pay for a MFi controller. The SixAxis/DualShock 3 has been around for 8 years.................but somehow we can't get an MFi controller of that quality build at around $40-$50? This is why people are excited for this hack. It's just the sheer rediculusness of these MFi controllers. It's damn insulting!

If the quality increases and the price drops on these controllers, then I'll bite, but until then, this hack is THE answer.

At the very least, we will have a whole bunch more feedback on how these games handle with controllers now, and that is a huge plus.

I had this dream. That ALL Kemco games receive MFi controller support. Good dream that one is.

  7. I thought you would be dreaming that all endless runners would be MFi. :)

And maybe MFi for those puzzle-matching games? :D

  9. Yeah, I am sure EP would have some really sweet dreams then.

I haven't grabbed one yet, but I absolutely will, and I'll definitely review it :)

The DS3 generally retails at 45-50 dollars, and the DS4 is 60 dollars - yes, those numbers are lower than $80, but you're giving up a lot in peace of mind by locking yourself into being jailbroken in order to play your games. Especially since the exploit that allows this jailbreak has already been patched in 7.1 betas.

I'd pay the 20-35 dollar premium for compatibility without needing a jailbreak, and it's what I'd recommend to anyone who asks.

The jailbreak is cool for the (many) of us who already have a DS3 controller - I'd really, really advise against buying one over a real MFi controller though.

Hah! My dream updates would probably be Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and Soul Calibur

You are right, but I think this is not yet the right time to buy an "official" mfi controller. And I think it is not a coincidence that after a hack to support a psp 3 controller was released, the price of the stratus went down. After a month or 2, something better will be release of the same price or even lower, and it will just leave you scratching your head.

Has anyone tried Terraria with the PS3 controller tweak? Crashes on loading for me (iPad 3). All the other games I tested worked perfectly tho, highly recommend the tweak.

That's a good dream. Though mine would be Modern Combat 4 and N.O.V.A. 3.

I just bought a DS3 off Amazon for $29.99 with free shipping. MFi controllers are way too expensive :)

I can only imagine how the none mfi players on modern combat 5 will get slaughtered by the mfi master race.

It would be nice too if you can have local multiplayer, play against your friend (NBA 2K14, Marvel VS Capcom 2) or co-op (Metal Slug)

Controllers for all is now compatible with the Dualshock 4.

This! I want to be able to play games through airplay in splitscreen with controllers. It would be so fun (and really console-like)

  18. I think it is very unfortunate that steelseries came out right when the jailbroken ps3 joysticks did. If they can't make money off their joystick when it was the first detached joysticks, other companies will be very hesistant now to get in the market.

But yeah, since people are getting playstation joysticks for $30, let's hope the price of ios 7 joysticks drops too. Not many are going to buy $100 joystixks.

That's not bad then - but I still hope it doesn't wind up unused when the jailbreak stops working and you decide that upgrading is worth it

Metal Slug games should get support soon; I believe the devs said they were interested in adding it to their old games...

There will be others, give it a little time :)

On the subject of price cuts, the Logitech is going for 69.95 everywhere right now - it's a great controller for 2D games, and worth considering
