I love you guys. It didn't work when I tried this yesterday; I was in the middle of a race and went to Options, but the controls were unresponsive. I tried changing the settings prior to a race again just now, and it works like a dream. So so beautiful. How great SF:Volt would be if it supported MFi controllers
Please, Capcom. Listen to the community. It would generate free publicity and heaps more sales of your games if you added iOS controller support. Most of your games are more arcade oriented. Hardware controls would make them awesome.

This one is better, using a spoon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8fb2HXp5Bo Step by step tutorial: https://plus.google.com/photos/+FADILAyoub/albums/5824402834242965169?banner=pwa
I broke down and went to the Apple store and bought the Steelseries Stratus. Worst case, I find that it wasn't for me and I return it. Best case, I finally get to play iOS games the way I've wanted for years now. The controller comes with a USB charging cable, a plastic shield for the controller and a zipper soft case. The controller itself feels good and would have been decent for my non-gigantic hands. It felt like holding a compact Vita to me. Now for the kicker - even though iOS supports MFI, not all devices do. I have an iPhone 4S that works with pretty much every bluetooth device under the sun as far as I can tell. Given that I figured MFI was baked into iOS 7, any iOS 7 device should be able to use the controller. NOT THE CASE! Upon successfully pairing the controller and it showing as connected, I proceeded to fire up my recent favorite - Sonic and All Stars racing Transformed. The game loaded and a lovely message popped up stating "This accessory is not supported by this iPhone". Okay, gotta be a mistake. To my surprise, I checked the box and on the Compatibility list was every recent device except the iPhone 4S. To keep it short, I'm really disappointed. I've owned the Game loft controller, the iCade, the 8-bitty and they all have worked with my iPhone. But apparently you need something in the lightning connector generation for this *()#& to even work! I give up...
Dang sorry to hear, I been waiting for it to show up here locally(AZ) to give the stratus a try as well
No kidding! I just got back from returning it so I'm going to look into the PS3 controller option. What's disappointing is that not only is the iPhone 4S not compatible, neither are iPad 2's or 3's if you look at the compatibility chart for the controller: http://store.apple.com/us/product/HE760VC/A/steelseries-stratus-wireless-gaming-controller Oh well, lesson learned and I'll stick to my 3DS/Vita then.
I downloaded the "Controllers for all" tweak. So far I've only checked out Chaotic Box's games (Silverfish MAX, Critter Panic) but it works like a dream.
Damn! I am actually properly jealous at the minute as I've pre-ordered a SteelSeries Stratus but have to wait until March or so here in the UK. I have enough games to get me through but am so close to jailbreaking one of my devices at the moment just to give it a go.
I wanted to do that but couldn't find any of those clips. Then I tried the coat hanger method but failed. The spoon looks good though try that. Very similar to the computer pci slot case cover I used.
Thats true, but they do say they're for mobile. Android controllers have existed for some time - not sure they'd warrant a PR site, but you never know, it could be that. Thanks guys! I didn't remember needing to do that, but glad you got it working! It would be great if the Street Fighter games were updated. They DO receive occasional updates, do it's not beyond the realm of possibility. The really painful one to me is that Soul Calibur just received a big iOS7 update, yet no MFi support... Aww man, I did NOT know that the 4S was excluded. That makes no sense - other A5 devices work perfectly! Have you tried any other games? Disconnect the controller, restart the phone, reconnect the controller, and boot up some other compatible games - worth a shot, before returning it... I'll test the jailbreak hack with a PS3 controller later - I've heard that works with iPad 3, so hopefully it'll work with the 4S as well.
I tried several games. I tried un-pairing and re-pairing the controller, all with the same results. Are you sure other A5 devices work? iPad 2 is the other A5 device and it's not listed as compatible on the product page. Either way, I took it back.
I'm not sure, no, but I assume they work with non-retina iPad mini and iPod touch - I'll test that later I know the PS3 controller works with the regular ipad mini
For those interested, here are some pictures of the Steelseries Stratus I took of the packaging as well as the controller before I returned it: http://imgur.com/a/Y4ug9#0
