@rdriskell Nice impressions. I felt the same way pretty much. I have decided to wait for something better than the two current offerings. The last month has been a HUGE test of self-control for me, and so far, I'm holding strong. See, I'm the guy that buys everything on day one. It's killing me to not buy a PS4 AND an Xbox One right now. I learned a lesson with Xbox 360. I don't want to pay to be a beta tester again. I went through 11 360s (all warranty). WiiU? Day one purchase @ $349.99 no games for almost 8 months, and now? $299.99 with two games. I'm FORCING myself to not buy PS4 and Xbox One, because I know if I wait, I'll get a better deal AND a more stable system. I want a controller for iOS really badly. I bought an iCade cabinet, an iCade 8-bitty, and the Gameloft controller. I had a jalibroken iPad (which I gave up for ios 7) so I could use a ps3 controller or a wiimote with BluTrol. I've tasted what gaming CAN be on iOS, and now, I'm like a crack addict for it. I want it so badly.......... I'm FORCING myself to NOT by the MOGA or the Logitech. I'm making myself wait, because just like the consoles, I know if I wait, I'll get a better product at a better price. Even if it kills me (.......it won't) I cannot buy these controllers. I just can't do it. Not these two. Must..........stay...........strong..........
I dunno, feel no urge to buy an ios 7 joystick when my icade core and gameloft duo are better than what we got for ipads. I also have mogra for android, free from e3, so having fun with it, but it feels more like a toy. I doubt I will get one unless apple makes one, or xbox or ps4 joysticks can be used somehow. I hate to say this, but this whole ios 7 joystick thing seems more like a tech demo than anything else. I hope Apple gets serious about this and hdmi in the future by coming out with a good wireless detacheable joystick next year.

For the longest time, I thought that if only my iPod Touch or iPad had a physical controller, it would be such a more rounded gaming device. It still seems like there is a long way to go and I personally give up. I recently bought an ASUS T100 Windows 8 device and absolutely love it. Steam has been perfect for getting cheap games ($5-10 mostly) that are far above what iOS games were ever to me. Couple that with my 360 controller and it's so great to just sit on the couch with the controller and tablet in my lap and just play games. I went through the same roller coaster ride of hopeful new controllers with the iCade, Gameloft Pro Duo, iCade retro. I even tried my hand with an NVIDIA Shield and I spent so much time just trying to get controls to work or having to research of if a game worked or not. I feel for you guys/gals, I really hope it get's better.
How much was the tablet? I'm sick and tired of Apple trying to catch up with technology from 2005........Also, yes, Steam kicks the App Store's ass all over up and down. Plus, at least I can play Halo on windows 8.......
Dead Trigger 2 has improved its controller support What's New: - Polished support for MFI controllers
Started playing it recently cause it looks gorgeous on ipad 4's. Looking forward to Gameloft games with joystick support. Played last night Asphalt 7 with my old duo joystick, that was fun, would love for A8 to have joystick support too.
The T100 ranges from $349 for 32GB to $399 for 64GB models. With sales though, you can get it about $50 cheaper. I absolutely love my T100. It comes with a keyboard that you snap the tablet into and is a decent size for typing if you have average sized hands. It's full windows 8.1 and comes with Office as well. As much as people rag on Windows 8, it's actually a great tablet OS with support for legacy programs, namely games! I have been pleasantly surprised by what it can handle as well. If you are interested, I've been doing game captures of various games and posting them on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLz9iv3UfoDKaW2cRuOfP4cLv56LDbXLsW Some of the games looks jerky mostly because Fraps is cutting my framerate down. With a little tweaking, most all of the games I've uploaded videos for run smoothly and play with the 360 controller nicely! I'm not trying to sell anyone on this, just expressing my dissatisfaction for what iOS has become and the lack of support it has. I was a staunch supporter for many years, but grew more and more frustrated with everything.
I'm in your boat. I was a huge supporter of Apple's tablets and phones, but honestly, it seems that innovation has all but vanished since Steve died. A friend if mine just picked up a Surface Pro 2 the other day, and as an artist and a gamer, it's looking like a very viable option for me. I'm sick of waiting for Apple to wake up. All we get year after year is the same device packed with a new processor and whatever tweeks Apple can steal from the jailbreak community. It's almost insulting. I am not a fan of Android, but I do admire their open policies. Windows tablets might be the future for me. Hell, I can get the REAL Photoshop (not that lame ass photoshop touch app), Steam, and Xbox 360 controller support out of the box!! I can't even install fonts on the iPad for s#%!s sake!!!!!! Apple, open your eyes!!! While you are dragging your feet when it comes to expanding your base, you're also potentially losing what base you do have!! Here's an idea......why don't you guys take one of your towers of money and just buy Nintendo. You could probably get them for a pretty good deal right now............
I will be buying the BladePad as soon as it is available. I will be sure to leave impressions. When I do. Also, will MC4 be getting controller support? That is the main thing I want a controller for!
I don't think MC4 will get it, since they didn't even support it with their own controller, the Duo Gamer. MC3 has Duo Gamer support. I would look to both MC5 and NOVA 4 to support MFi controllers.
Gangster Vegas has added controller support. What's New - Enjoy a new gaming experience thanks to the iOS controller support Improved graphics for your new iPad Air Minor bugs fixed ** Supports Game Controllers made for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Game Controller support requires iOS 7 or later and is compatible with iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad 2 or later, and iPod touch (5th generation)
Yeah, that is probably true, if they couldn't for the duo gamer (which is better than any ios 7 joystick thus far being detacheable and dual analog), it probably won't come. But mc5 and nova 4 will be cool with ios 7 joystick support.
Trouserheart is updated in what I hope amounts to a fix for the Moga: What's new - fixed MFI gamepad support for controllers with analog sticks
