Well, it's an app not a game. It's in the Lifestyles category. There's a link up there in the forum post, but here is the link to the app: http://itunes.apple.com/app/atmospheric/id421103244?mt=8
I got you the first time, but I was uploading some games when I typed in the post. Brain-wiring got crossed up, but I do stand corrected: app. I found out that the reason I wasn't taken to the link was because I was downloading a game that is more than a 1GB in size. I can see the app now. I have tons of ambient sound apps on my iDevice and am very interested in your new app. Would it be possible to post a vid so we can learn more about the app?
We're thinking about cooking up a video for this, sure. As soon as we have it, I will be sure to update this post. Thanks!
Quick Thoughts Ok, I bought the app. The splash screen logo is quite impressive and the Unreal Tech really shines there. However, the animation on the rest of the app leaves much to be desired. Essentially, users are presented with screens with planets, that when touched, emit a unique sound. The sounds resonate wonderfully for a pre-determined time. There is a small spaceship that orbits intermittently. But, after quite some time, it actually takes you to another screen where a planet resembling Earth alongside its satellite moon are a refreshing addition to the sights and sounds of this pocket universe. While toggling between the first two screens is available by touching the golden orb hovering in the lower corners. This orb is mysteriously absent for those who want to get to the other "hidden" screen. Toggling to get to the "Earth" screen only occurs when the shuttle flies by. But, once we are brought there, it isn't easy going back and forth between this newfound screen and the others. This baffles me. Unreal is known for their stunningly visual presentation. However, the presentation here is a bit mundane as we are presented with stationary planets which spin along their respective axes once touched. While the sounds emitted are at once melancholy, somber and majestic, the graphical appeal of the app is not what one would expect given the pedigree of the brand name. (Infinity Blade and Dungeon Defenders while artistically divergent thematically, are both still quite impressive visually). I'd rather not belabor future enhancements noted by the dev on the app screen but (and forgive me if I mistakenly parrot them because I cannot remember what they are as I type this out), other than the obvious flaws I mentioned here, I'd like to see way to record a loop that we can use for longer periods of enjoyment allowing us to play the loops over and over in the background while we're studying, say, or meditating.
Thanks for your response. We truly appreciate the very detailed feedback you've given us here- some of the best crit we've seen. One thing that we want everyone to know is that we are only at the very beginning of what we have planned for this app, and user feedback (like this) is weighed heavily when we are making future decisions on where to go with Planemo. The Planemo universe is going to continue to expand, and those stunning capabilities we all know the Unreal Engine to be capable of are most certainly coming to Planemo.
Thanks for taking the criticism well. I REALLY wanted to enjoy the app, but couldn't for the reasons noted. However, I do appreciate the entry-level price tag on the app, encouraging tentative buyers to bite, despite the lack of vid or (at least at the time of this writing) user comments. I think you've set a good foundation, but I'm looking forward to seeing how you'll be taking it to the next level pushing the envelope on the usage of the Unreal engine. Good luck and hope to see some updates soon. P.S. I edited my first post above to further embellish my point(s)
