So now with the balance, any trade routes that are profitable? Cause it took me ages to get to 5 mil.

I'm pretty sure that trade routes aren't very profitable now. If Fishlab's idea was to weed out a broken aspect of the game, then they probably did so holistically on the area.

But I do like that they did this though. It suddenly changed the pace of the game the first time I played through it when it was ludicrously profitable. Left me with a feeling of "oh... okay, I guess I didn't need to do those missions anyway."

Yeah I guess it does help to balance the game. And it is fun raiding cargo ships with my Aegir and the 4 Mass Driver MD 10's equipped :D

I just use nukes to do huge damage over a large area, and pick off each ship one by one ^^ But the profitability of this method is entirely contingent on what the ships have which is completely thrown by chance. Once found two gram blasters which gave me about 160k, but its rare that happens :(

Am I the only one with Game Center issues? Seems that my question was ignored..

    If you have Valkyrie
with the Auto-turrets, the Veteran would be good, but if so, you would be better off getting the S'Kannar.
Otherwise, the Aegir would be the better option, with the
    Mantis and VoidX
    being the best.

Not sure what the problem might be. On the main page, (title screen) check that the Game Center logo is lit up gold. This means that GC is enabled. You can have Openfeint enabled too, which is good for save file transfers, an sometimes less of a hassle compared to iCloud.

If you have finished the initial game and loves the story, then purchase it.
Valkyrie is a worthy add-on with tons of new content and continues the story from the original game.
Was very happy when this became available for the HD version and purchased it instantly. Thusfar, I am not dissapointed at all!

Yeah, I have GC enabled, but the achievements don't seem to register. Maybe I should reinstall the game.

    Dear developers,

Why have you removed the option to switch between resolutions?
I rather have the occasional hiccup and gorgeous Retina resolution versus the half baked 1440 something resolution. The jaggies are virtually just as bad as the iPad 2 resolution.

Please follow Gameloft's example (and your own old example) of giving the iPad 3 users a choice?

    :(

Maybe they reduced texture size in the update and decided they didn't want 3 different sets of assets. I can't say, but there must be some reason because we have a choice in the HD version.

Anyway, my preference is for there to be full retina in the stations and full frame rate while in combat.

Correction: *had* a choice in the HD version, because that is exactly the version I have.
Good news though. A whole thread in outrage got started elsewhere regarding this matter and the developers have released an update to Apple.
We will now get three resolution to choose from so that everyone will be happy.

I just finished the main storyline + the Valkyrie one, bought that Deep Science ship (Nemesis?) and started to manufacture the rest of the 'elite' blueprints - and now I'm starting to notice that the game is ten times harder than before - loads of pirates everywhere - where there used to be just two or three pirates, now there is a battlefield with 10+ pirate and civilian ships. What the hell, space?

I am sorry if this question has already been asked before, but can anybody tell me if I should buy the hd version or the sd version if I have iphone4s. How big is the difference to merit additional $5?

If you have the 4s and the new iPad, go with the HD. The HD version looks gorgeous in my new ipad. In terms of sizes, the HD version is 1.2 gb and the SD 443 mb when installed in my device. Good luck.

I had both the SD and HD on my 4S and it's not a no-brainer as it would seem... The SD looks worse, BUT it eats up considerably less battery and doesn't heat up the phone like the HD version...

... But I play HD anyway, and so should you ;)
